@Norfolkyakker11 ай бұрын
Thank you. Don't be tempted into to buying the super wide kayaks which the market is flooded with as these are hard to paddle against tide and wind. My boat here is an Ocean Scupper Pro. You'll need something at least 4m long and roughly .75m wide, used kayaks offer good value. If buying new I'd look at the Swell Watercraft 14.

Did this ever actually work long term?
@Norfolkyakker3 жыл бұрын
It actually worked fine for a number of years but it was a lot of work constantly checking the water quality and saline value. I was spending more working on that than watching the animals so I called it a day and returned them all to where I'd collected them. Last year's hot summer may have made things difficult though. The prawns and hermits were the favourites but I also added blennies and three spined sticklebacks. The anemone produced tiny mobile offspring.

@@Norfolkyakker Thank you for your speedy reply, I have friends who live there and thought it might be fun, even if not regularly fruitful. There are seals, which suggest prey fish, and because the relatively inexpensive set up, I might just give it a go.

I think that is some pretty rare footage, seeing those flatties swimming so relatively high in the water and not hugging the bottom. I'll be more confident in popping up baits to avoid crabs now. How about dropping your camera somewhere clear and rocky? Wrasse are always very photogenic. May have to leave Norfolk to find some rocks though!
