  I'm still not entirely used to the new helmets that the LAFD have. These are of a much more traditional shape than the previous "modern" ones with their high crowns and small brims. NB most "modern" American fire helmets have a low crown, unlike a particular type popular along the west coast of the US, that the LAFD once had.
