Could we please quit fucking around with propellers and solar cells with bird shit on them, and hamsters on exercise wheels, and other forms of alternative energy? Let’s build great big thorium-cycle power plants (Liquid fuel fluoride thorium salt) and then we won’t have to read headlines when one of these ‘"wind turbines" flings a propeller into someone's living room during high wind loads! These quixotic monstrosities require millions of gallons of fossil fuels and the strip mining of rare earth metals to construct only to have an EROEI (over their twenty year life span) that barely breaks even on energy invested. And, that's not even counting the insane yearly maintenance costs. Green energy is a tax scam and is far from "green."

The only way to get clean energy is with Nuclear-generated power and I think most Irish people would not be happy with that because of fears around it. I think placing the turbines out further where they don't dominate is the best solution and use corporate tax windfalls (pardon the pun)to pay for it.

Didn't you comment on the other video? Well, I very much appreciate your engagement, but sadly we are very much in doubt as to whether this is going to affect the cost of energy for any of the households in this part of Ireland, (while it is simultaneously very damaging to marine life). If we can prove that it is indeed beneficial, we will report immediately. Again, very appreciative of your engagement and interest in this topic. We only want the best for the people of Ireland, it's biodiversity and marine life, that is why we support the wind farms being further from the shore.

Hi Mary, offshore wind will objectively reduce Irish household electricity bills. Average wholesale prices in IE have been €100-200+/MWh over the past years, offshore is delivering in Ireland at €86. This price is contractually locked-in for 20years of operation via the ORESS terms, meaning that when wholesale prices are higher than €86/MWh, Irish households will be directly refunded the difference via a negative PSO levy. This actually happened last year for slightly different reasons, but illustrates how all Irish consumers would see the benefits if offshore was online today. This is after a 25% net profit charge for using the seabed, corporation tax, and another 25% net profit dividend to local communities, which, in the case of Area A/Tonn Nua alone, will amount to a quarter of billion euro for the South East. While also progressing climate, ecological and energy security targets..

@@rmcguinness1 Thanks for your participation Robert! I know you work in the field. I was reading about the port infrastructure issue. What argument is Paul Doherty, (Executive Director of Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions) making when he says "... Irish electricity consumers could be paying more for their power for decades to come because of the lack of ports." Is this true? If the price is locked in, what does he mean? Also, what is the estimated cost of the project in the South East (if you combine all proposed wind farms A,B,C & D)? Personally, for me it's about quality of life. I harvest so much wellbeing from my relationship with the coast, that it is worth it's weight in gold to me. I know I am not alone on this issue, whether people are conscious of it or not, it's a God-given anti-depressant and it's role in our lives is somewhat taken for granted, so it's almost impossible to evaluate. But I know for some people the cost is a priority. Here is the link with Paul Doherty's quote: renews.biz/85068/irish-government-must-invest-in-ports-for-offshore-growth/ I appreciate your engagement and look forward to getting some clarification on this.

"Natural Asset Corporations (NACs). As Unlimited Hangout previously reported, NACs create corporations that take control of natural assets that were previously part of the “commons,” such as forests, rivers and lakes, and then sell shares of those assets to Wall Street asset managers, sovereign wealth funds and other financial institutions in order to generate profit under the guise of “conserving” the asset they target."

people want energy at cheap prices but don't want the infrastructure in "their gardens". Its ok if its in someone else's garden though. Maybe suggest solar farms and they'll complain, suggest nuclear power and they'll complain, suggest dams and they'll complain, suggest bigger and more power stations and they'll complain. They are just attention seeking and being difficult looking to make life difficult for everyone else

I've heard her in front of my house one night, she's a weeping woman, sobbing, very mournful waves of the sea coming and going , "uhhh huhu hu huuu", that's how it sounded. I lay there in bed petrified honestly, hairs on your neck standing up 'm an American, mother was an O'Donnell, father an O'C. She follows her old families, my grandmother heard it years before, everyone laughed at her until the night I heard it I didn't laugh at her after that. And "pagan Ireland" uhh, no, I'm as Catholic as can be and the banshee doesn't change that, she's a creature of God as any other.

Banshees or Beansidhe. Back in 1987 or 1988 I was walking down the road at night with two Mikes....Mike Hamlin and Mike Reed. We hadn't gone too far down the road when up at the top of the trees we heard this blood curdling cry. It warbled in a owl-like way for a few seconds and then morphed into a female voice screaming "MIKE!" I stood there in amazement, but when I turned around both Mikes were gone! I was buzzing with excitement but realized I was alone in the dark on the side of Doyal rd....so I finally ran back to the house. When I got there both mikes were pacing around the front yard saying "What the fuck was that?" We all agreed it had to be a Banshee. But they say if a Banshee calls your name you will die soon. Well I'm happy to report both Mikes are still alive and well today. So what did it mean? One Mike was threatened by a fellow student who got him alone and said something creepy like "I have a gun under my seat." and "Would anyone miss you if you just never came home?" Which is creepy...but he didn't do anything. So I'm not sure if Mike was in danger or not? But maybe it was a warning? The other Mike would jump on the hood of a friends moving car (she didn't know) and when she put on the breaks he went surfing face first in the gravel. He came pretty close to death that night...but still lived. So maybe the Banshee doesn't always warn of certain death? After these incidents I had gone alone in my grandma's forest at night and cast a magick circle. After I got the circle of protection up I sat and stared into the candle light. Right as I began to break the circle at the end of the ritual....a singing/ crying female voice started singing in a language that I didn't understand. I was so terrified by the sound that I could barely move. And I noticed that my faithful dog (who always stayed close) had refused to follow me into the woods this time. After this singing/ crying had stopped I quickly picked up my ritual items and headed out of the woods. There at the corner of the woods was my dog "Bear" sitting patiently for me to leave the woods. I felt so much better to see him and get close to him. But as I approached he began to cry and back away from me. I noticed he was looking above my head. I looked up and seen nothing. Could the dog see something I couldn't? Needless to say I ran home at this point. It wasn't long after this incident my uncle Tivis died in Tennessee.

The Banshee Is the spirit of a Woman who lost Her Child and Her wailing is not only Her own suffering it is a warning to others if their loved ones passing.. She appears in many forms not just a lady in white with flowing hair She can take on many different forms I've heard it many times first time when I was about 6/7yrs old It was the more terrifying sound I've ever heard in my life Heard of My Uncle passing the next day.. But My Mother and siblings have seen it many times all have said different from a mere small white shadow form To an ugly horrifying form.. My Mom has seen and heard it so many times that when she does she simply goes "Oh there goes the Bitch again " lol It comes merely to pass on a message And it doesn't just follow the "O/Mc" Families that's just a lie Most Irish have at least heard it or know someone who has. The rest just try to brush it off as mere Myth because they are so scared of the Unknown It can be kinda scary esp when you are in a room full of ppl and you might be the only one who can hear it and You're like "You hear that right? " and everyone says no Like Yea Okay pick on just me 😑
