Hello Everybody and welcome to my repair canal, I like doing repair of almost everything that can be disassembled and of course assembled again. It gives me a good feeling when i have done a complicated repair, it's just like a really good puzzel. It can be a camera or lenses, or anything else, because it cost a lot of money to send it to a repair tech somewhere in the world.
SO why not do it yourself.., save money and learning new things at the same time, instead of hearing a repair tech said "It will cost too much to repair, you can buy a new one for your hard worked money, and just throw the old away..".
Well.., what can you loose when it's already broken.., in my opinion.., Nothing, so give it a try...
I often go to fleemarket and buy some stuff that's already not working, and in that way take things apart without risk.
NOTE: Some of my movies are without sound / talk, BUT the latest film's are in HD and I tell you how I work with the stuff.
Greeting from Kenneth

Thank you for your video!
After going crazy for a couple of days after other videos, I tried to watch yours, even if it was FM and not FE as in my case. Having identified the point you indicated, not being able to unscrew the screw, I made a small variation: a controlled spray of WD40 and magically everything started working again. I don't think it's the most orthodox method but it worked beautifully. I hope I haven't done irreparable damage with my change but I wanted to thank you for your precious and indispensable information! (translation by Google I hope it's understandable)
.... on another shutter topic ....(Sorry but I couldn't find any email or other contact for you :-) Do you have any video that would be helpful in repairing a "stuck" (won't fire at all) Copal shutter on the 80mm f3.7 Mamiya-Sekor for Mamiya 220 ? Thanks !
Very nice tutorial!
I have always been intrigued with the Seiko/Seikosha shutters, another amazing video from someone who always shares your knowledge experience, and appreciation of the mechanisms that allow photographers like myself to continue to enjoy the journey of the apparatus and the image! Much respect always, Sir!
That's a clever idea, Kenneth.
Hi Mike, I managed to get my lenses clean. However, now my shutter is stuck. I think it may be related to the fact, that I tried to use a wire release to keep the release shutter pressed. The situation is now that the shutter appears to be pressed and does not come out. It is not possible to change the timer setting from bulb to something else or or use the rewind lever. Do you have any idea what could be wrong? thanks and many regards, axel
Do you mind letting me know what is the name of the tool you are using at 1.06 time? To open the pig nose screw
No me sirvió de nada tu video
Thanks for the video! I never even knew about JIS screwdrivers! I had a problem with aperture stuck wide open. A few humble tips: 1. the bayonet screws were hard to turn on my lens, my screwdrivers were small with thin handle so not enough leverage. I wrapped the screwdriver handle with cloth, gently turned with pliers, the screws gave easily. 2. I had size 00 and 0 and used 0 (the bigger one) 3. I took the bayonet off, and then just moved that thingy that closes the aperture and the aperture closed. I worked it a few times and it was fine. So was no need to disassemble further. I used Vessel TD 51.
Fungus also lives inside the lens holder barrels. Did you clean those with hydrogen peroxide? Otherwise a nice very detailed video of a difficult procedure. Well done!
“Although this is an old thread, I want to express my gratitude. I have the same lens, and following your video instructions, I managed to smoothly fix the stiff aperture ring. Putting it back on was a bit tricky, but with patience, I did a great job. Thank you for your help, my friend! You’ve assisted me before with a Nikon F camera, and I appreciate it. Cheers!” 😊
PORQUE RAZON PUEDE HABERME QUEDANDO FALLANDO EL AUTOFOCO?
Thank you, very useful. Appreciate if you can make a video showing how to clean Nikon F4 viewfinder.
Thanks for the video. Which Wera torque screwdriver would you recommend. Thank you
Great tip,life saver.
My lens is missing one spring inside. The one connected to the C-shaped brass lever. Do you know the size of spring?
Tnx! After this video i repaired my nikon 10-24mm in 40 minutes! It works great again!
Thank you for your time and guidance 👍🏼 I have a question Do you or somebody here know if the 124g works if the self-timer is broken? Thanks!
Hello Mike! I watched many of your videos over and over. I have a Nikomat FTn but the thread on the shutter speed indicator strip snapped. I disassembled to find the two ends hanging. How do you replace the indicator? Thanks !
How about you just sell me that tool and you can make another 😁..I’m having hard time adjusting the vertical alignment on my mp4! Great video!
Hi mikeno62, thanks for making this video. I was able to fix my sticky slow gear problem. But, I am pretty sure I've misaligned the small rangefinder window baffle (this thing 17:40). I can't seem to get it aligned correctly and keep having light leaks. Do you know how to fix this? I marked it before I removed it but even putting it back using the marking doesn't work.
Excellent video! Can’t wait to de-spot my RX100 II sensor! Bravo!
Great video thank you. I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ200 which suddenly will not switch on, I have tried new batteries but nothing works. Can I bring it to you in Denmark or send it to you? Thanks.
thanks a lot
Nice. Thank you.
Can you make video how to replace broken ribbon shutter? Thank you
thanks for great technics
Thank you for this!
Brilliant!
Thank you, that was excellent well presented and very informative.
It was annoying to have a good camera, but then a piece of sand can lead to a total damage so easily. Thank you for the video! I have the error message for the zoom lens, won't work anymore in any way, so I can just guess it is blocked, but then again it might be i open this up and then it still won't work.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm about to do the same repair on the same model. I love that you keep the "not so perfect" parts as well because it shows me what could go wrong and how to correct it if it does.
Thanks for the detailed video! Followed your instructions to remove the mainboard so I could repair/reflow a damaged USB connector. Success, thanks to this guide! Great job!
hey mikeno62 , will you please upload a Elmarit-M 90 2.8 lens disassembly video to guide me fix the focus ring no smooth problem? thanks bro.
I have a canon P myself. Just got it a few days ago. I am really excited because its such a pretty camera. I tested it with a shutter curtain and sadly it's a bit slow overall. Especially in the higher speeds. Now I really hope i can get them up within the canon tolerances but I am still fairly new to fixing cameras so I still need to learn a lot. Anyway, I was looking for information about the repair and as you are saying the repair manual is basically just exploded views and part lists. after searching and searching I stumbled upon the manual of the canon IV-S2. It's a rangefinder that's a bit older than the canon p. This manual has a lot more information and guides. In case you ever need more info.
Hi Mikeno ! I love your natural style, not always sure of what you are about to do but yet..quite competent ! I also work on cameras and watches as I love precision. Thanks for your videos.
thanks so much!
The marked screw on the 5:18 happens to have a dent over it. So no need to mark with a pen I think :)
Thank you for making these videos, I really appreciate the effort you have put in (for probably little return). I have inherited an old 35RD from my father who passed away, so I will be using your guides to ensure that it's nice and clean and functional. It has been sitting in a drawer for decades, so who knows what condition it will be in!

Good Tips- Thanks
Thank you for your video. I'd like to ask: how are the aperture blades interleaved?
Can you make an updated disassembly video for this lens?
Thank you Kenneth, I just followed your instruction and successfully aligned the rangefinder both vertically and horizontally. Cheers!!
👍🏼Thank you Sir!❤
hi mike, are you based in europe?
Any idea as to what would cause the “clutch” of the focus mechanism to get jammed up? My focus motor is ok. Even when I have removed the focus motor and rotate the focus ring, it gets jammed.
Copied your video. Now the lens works perfectly. Many thanks.
Thanks
