From Hero to Zero

From Hero to Zero

“Music is always changing and the changes are unpredictable,” said the great Billy Sheehan. That is true for music as an art form, for the marketplace that asks for it, as well as for the business that seeks to monetise any music product.

In our vlog series, we talk to artists from all genres and corners of the world, about the driving forces that constitute our contemporary music universe. We want to find how the breeding grounds of music have changed and what this means for the creatives all around the world today.

Join us, when we talk to heroes to make sense of the alleged zero - the music business.

Can see he's on heroin here. He's wanting to nod off and enjoy his high lol eyes always wanting to close, long, lazy blinks, pale, clammy face. Anyone who's used opiates will see this. Glad he's clean and looking healthy these days.

He has to interview session drummers, keyboardists, and backup vocalists too so fans can know more about the business (the music business). This was a great interview. The host was patient and real with the Drummer. That's nice... November 12, 2023. USA.

Tommy Victor was born in 1961/1962. In this video he should be 54/55 yeras old! He is looking great for that age! I do NOT like usually METAL music (I am into electronic), but PRONG is a great band, because it is a good mix of the different genres crossover: Groove; thrash; alternative and industrial metal! Once in the 90s I even was by the PRONG`s concert here in Germany.

There was something respectful and honourable about entering a shop and buying music. Even now we have such shops like HMV but it doesn't feel the same. Music that's obtainable from a device makes me half hearted, I generally walk in and then back out thinking I'll stream it in the car instead. Ignorance is such bliss...I'd pick an album, smell the cover, feel the texture, read the lyrics...see the shiny disc...smell the 'newness' of pressed vinyl. Now, I feel slightly guilty for keeping a load of plastic but even worse for a headache of musical clutter in my head from Spotify. .....Back then, buying music from a shop was the highlight of my day. Couldn't wait for lunch break to rush into a store. Exciting and euphoric. I don't think anything compares to that. To me honest, I always resort to pretty much old stuff and will pay a little extra for it. It sort of helps when you know your preferred artist or music genre. Top of The Pops was an incredible memory for me and my family. We'd be sitting with anticipation to find out who got the top spot.

Hamed is beautiful and very talented, but is he saying that there’s forces trying to “Orientalize” Arab culture and music within Arab nations? That may well be happening within Europe and N America, but I think that’s a stretch to say Arab culture is trying to make itself an “other.”

100% true - Bobby is THE most underrated and loving guy in the whole music scene. I had the honor to meet him twice - before and after a gig - in Brazil. He was always approachable, friendly, treated me like an equal. I never had the chance to tell him this, but he is the reason why I fell in love with Biohazard - when I saw him spinning with his Gibson back in '93 - still the most beautiful think I've ever seen onstage. I confess sometimes I cry watching him doing it. Fucking great guitarist, fucking great person. DFL

I saw them in Atlanta..F!! Can't even remember what tour... probably Frolic because it certainly was way before Act 3.. which is one of my fav albums of all time. I'm here to tell you.. Osequeda is one of the sweetest, coolest metal dudes ever.. I'm getting back into them again and I'm so excited. Rob is a f'n genius.. they were.. one of the best, most under appreciated metal bands of that time for sure❤ I truly hope Andy and Gus and Dennis are thriving

Lees right about playing live. Too few clubs, too many players. When I played out in the 80s/90s, I played 50 weekends out of the year. 3 one hours a night, both Friday and Sat. 6 hours live for one weekend. 24 hours live per month. I had it good.
