    Please don't judge too harshly the person who yelled enough already! at your bingo night. Chances are they were having a sensory overload moment due to some psychological or medical condition. They might have had to screw up their courage to come out to a gathering like that. If you do have an opportunity to see them again, you might find a gentle way to suggest that noise cancelling ear protection might help them enjoy community gatherings more comfortably.

    I just love the baby quilt, pink and green are my favourite colours by far. The block also is an old favourite, I made two wall quilts using this block and my hand dyed fabrics about twenty years or maybe more ago. But, this one with pink and green, it makes my heart happy and makes me want to make one of them too. You ask us to just play, but my body wants me to sleep more and my hands and feet are so so sore now with Neuropathy (thanks Covid in February) that I’m flat out getting a full hour’s creative work done a day. I’ve been disabled for about 20 years now, and I’m not complaining really, I’m usually positive not bitter, it’s just so lonely here in my further disability.

    This baby quilt is amazing. I love it. The old guy at the Bingo is just a party pooper. Someone has to always rain on your parade. So enjoy your videos I am so glad I found you and look forward to seeing your videos. I also started watching k3n she has some good stuff too. I love listening to books while I’m quilting or hand stitching or knitting because I love to read but have got so many things I want to do and just sitting and reading is gotten to be I don’t want to do when I can listen and do something else too. Thank you for sharing ❤

    This is a great idea. I'd love to have a go at it. I'm wondering -- have you tried runningba head of glue down the inner cord & wrapping, say, 5 or 6 yards ahead so that you can sew a couple of coils before wrapping again? I ask because I'm looking for a hand project to do while watching tv in bed. I don't think I can handle the glueing part in my lap.

  • @JeriBellini

    Jeri, I'm so glad you shared your thoughts and what you said really hit home with me. I don't have ADHD but I have auditory processing disorder, sensory issues and have struggled all my life including chronic health problems-lots of surgeries since the age of 4 and through my adulthood. There isnt a day that goes by I'm not in pain. I too get easily overwhelmed among other things. I'm in my late forties and I've noticed as I get older, things are reappearing I fought years to overcome or manage-if you will. I work hard to take it day by day, hour by hour. Art and creating has been a tremendous help in so many ways. I post videos on KZread of some of my creative endeavors and have gotten a few very unkind and rude comments from people. Especially about my talking-which I struggle with because of my APD. I wish people would be kinder to each other and be peaceful. This world needs it so much. Your kindness, videos, creativity, projects and everything you share are a blessing and I'm sure to so many feel the same way. I was thrilled to discover you and your channel. Thank you for all you do to bring joy and inspiration in so many lives. Hugs! ❤

    @@JeriBellini Hi, Jeri! That is so cool! Thank you. They are a blast to make! I've got more videos coming up soon on more ideas how to make them. Also boxes and different shapes of vessels. I do a lot of stumpwork embroidery and terrain with embroidery and mixed media so I'm going to show how to incorporate that as well. I love making scrappy snippet rolls and a fellow stitcher and lovely lady Darlene Winter @DWinters58 here in KZread showed how she makes her snippet baskets by folding the snippets. I was inspired by that to come up with my scrappy snippet bowls, pots and boxes with lots of stitches and it grew from there. I recently was asked if I would make different shapes so that is on the list! Darlene explains how she makes hers on her channel at the request of a few of us last year in a stitch group we had together called The Ugly Stitch Club. She was so gracious to share her process. The gorgeous dot blocks you make has given me a idea that I was going to reach out to you about it soon and ask you what you think. I need to make it first and show you before anyone sees it. Lol I give credit where credit is due and your art is an inspiration and had me thing about a scrappy collage of sorts for making the dots-from a fabric master board. Still working it out in my head. And thank you for your encouraging words. I vowed this time around that I won't give up making KZread videos no matter what!

    Love this project, Jeri❣️ I have tightly crocheted or knitted baskets with fabric strips, even some flat pieces like placemats, chair mats, and small rugs. BUT...I'm wondering what you think about laundering these types of fabric pieces. What's been your experience with coiled pieces made with fabric wound around cord? Thank you.

  • @JeriBellini
    @JeriBellini3 күн бұрын

    I've washed my rugs in the washing machine, however the things that are wrapped around a coil/cord, I would not immerse, I would wipe them off with a damp rag. If something really disgusting fell on it I would swish it around in warm soapy water and let drip dry outside. 💜

    I know that both Jeri (on this channel)and Kathryn (on her channel at k3n) have both explained and demonstrated plying fabric strips into yarn for cordage, basketry etc. This is essentially what spinning wheels do with plyed wool. So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried plying fabric strips on their wheels? I loved plying wool on mine, so I'm gonna give it a try if i can get strips small enough. This wrap technique is also fun, which I have done with yarn of all sorts, and have used "rafia" cord as the base/foundation. There arent enough hours in the day....❤

    Right now, I'm hand twining TShirt material because of its tendancy to curl in on itself, making for very round "smooth" cord. Also anchoring cord to a very thick ethafoam base with T pins, allow both hands to twist the materials together. (Ethafoam is used as packing material, and is more pliable than the old Styrofoam). Wrapping the twisted cord around the ethafoam base as I go, will also allow me to handle the yardage I hope to make, and helps keep things relatively taut and out of the way. The wheel has yet to come into the picture...lol.
