How nice. Thank you so much for sharing . Is there anyway I can contact you for more info? We’re looking to move there with the kiddos as well
What are these buildings called? I am headed to KL in a week and looking to rent. I have two young kids I want to raise there.

Cha, you’re starting a movement which is necessary, you’ll never be forgotten, trust me.
New subscriber. I’m enjoying my first video watching you. Pertaining the use of the right hand and eating with our hands, it’s the Sunnah (the way) of the Muslims taught by Prophet Muhammad (SAAWS). Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming, Inshallah. Peace.
🎉🎉😢
Congratulations 🎉
If you need a wardrobe to hang long dresses, you know you can just remove that shelf at the bottom, right? I believe it's just resting on 4 supports, so you can just remove it and put on the floor of your wardrobe at the very bottom out of the way.
@mountainguy4710 Yeah, I tried that, but they are glued. So, nope ,first thing I did. Appreciate you though!
Get well kid ❤❤❤❤
Hi i'm Malaysian but i live in the states. When i first arrived I've noticed Americans would greet each other hi! how are you? and they straight away walk past each other. I thought that was the rudest thing ever. I later learned that one of those phatic speeches. Do not ask how are you to Malaysians without being prepared to hear the whole story, the whole tea. Normaly you will be spared the drama but sometimes you hear the drama.. Instead Malaysians greet with Sudah makan? (have you eaten?) or Just hi (period) or Salam if muslim. I disagree with the directness i think Malaysians prefer direct but polite questions, why my brother was talking to me the other week he said well you're old now .(gasp so rude lol) then continues with his story but coming from him i knew it was a concern not an insult . That said northern Asianers (Korea, china and japan) generally considered angry/busy nations may not. SEA countries are chill and rarely lose their temper. You can also point to things with your whole hand but not with one finger another way my aunt does it she would pucker her lips and point her lips in a direction (lol) only with family or close friends. You can kiss cheeks left and right with family members but not french kiss with lovers. Not in a passionate embrace. Muslim people not only wont eat swine they wont even touch them . After touching swine and even dogs and alcohol the spirit becomes unclean requires them to do special ritual cleansing before offering prayers which is a hassle. Muslims tend to favor cats because it is in the Hadith (traditions of the prophet ), he had a pet cat and he treated it with utmost respect. I have respect for all of God's creatures even pigs and dogs.
@@mr3111 Thanks for the breakdown, I appreciate that.
you could turn the volume of your mic up though🙃
@@abuwarith1 thanks...it was all the way up and very loud on my end
@chajones I had mine all the way up too. Love your content. Hope to make it there by September.
Thanks for sharing
Glenmarie was among the best in jalan ampang, the price was reasonable too...
Gleneagles not Glenmarie
If you are not familiar with KL and Selangor etc. you will not understand the signages. MRT and LRT trains do not just go round KL, only the monorail does.
What an awesome place to live…congratulations
@@usinebob Yes, I love it.
I came across your vlog by searching for a black woman's perspective in Malaysia. As a member of other Brothers and Sisters group, and knowing the agreed concept of such safe spaces, I find it a little concerning that it appears at the 5 minute mark of this video that this group is not intended only for those of the African diaspora. I think it's a great thing to find community with all groups but spaces where we can share the experience of being black are vital. Just like there are groups specifically for women solo travelers or family travelers with school age children, there are experience that only that particular community will bond on and info on that population will find important. Hopefully, when people join your group, you are advising them it is open to all ethnicities and not just those from the African diaspora.
He's cute. Well, I don't want to pregnant 😂. Get well soon handsome boy❤

Get well soon.
That “indoctrination” comment came out of nowhere. I love this video and I know you respect culture. But the word “indoctrination” felt a bit disrespectful. Even though you referred to Malaysia as not “indoctrinating” like certain other countries, it is still a muslim majority country. And saying our belief is an indoctrination without properly understanding the religion itself may and will offend a lot of us, especially when living in our country. Thank you sister for enjoying your time here. May your family be blessed with meeting kind people in Malaysia always ❤️ Please take your time with getting to know the locals and insyaAllah learn about true Islam from our manners.
@OtakuScandal please be assured that the word was not used in a disrespectful manner as I have a Muslim father and was raised Muslim. My thoughts and perspective, however, are based on my culture as an American. With that said, if what I said was offensive, I appolize that was not the intention.
Well, i lived in kansas city for 5 yrs as a student in the 80s. Personally i found black americans n nigerians were similar. Both were rowdy, drunk n quarrelsome, at least those that were living in my neighborhood, both in Malaysia n in the US. So i think u should not try to differentiate between continent blacks vs american blacks. I would think americans r more vile because americans support genocide in palestine. Definitely its not race n color that matter, Malaysians r all of many different colors. Its all down to individual s character, morals n values. I find black americans to be a bit obsessed by colors n forget that maybe people dont like certain people because of how they behave n nothing abt the color.

malaysia is very affordable for food and transportation as most food (vege, oil, eggs, rice etc) prices and gas prices is partially subsidies by our goverment
Speedy recovery young man..
In Malaysia, we are colour blind. Black or white, Muslim or Non Muslim we are under one roof...
You should visit East Malaysia as well
Get well soon... ❤ stay safe, yeah!
Why are you using a Swiss train as the thumbnail? There are plenty of MRT photos online that you can use
@ysc1692 Thank you for the details. I used what my copyrights gave me at the time. But thanks for the observation. I appreciate it!
A minimalist life is good.
Hi Cha, great to hear about by your experience in Malaysia. I wondered where you went after Merida! Have fun.
HEY there! Yes, I'm here in Malaysia.
@@chajones we've heard mixed reports about Malaysia. Investigated Thailand for a month last year, but I've decided to stay put in Merida for some more years. My daughter would move to Bangkok tomorrow if she could afford it. Ha ha.
Stop by at Bukit Bintang and TRX for shopping and foods...
I love that area.
The train in your thumbnail is from Switzerland.
Thanks for the info
I think you should mention about safety too...very often we heard from the news about random shooting in the U.S
Noted...I appreciate that. Safety is important too.
Nice video..
Thanks
Hey Cha!!! New subscriber here. I saw your post on Facebook!!! Best wishes on your journey
Thank you so much!!
Great list!
Queen of DC is another black vlogger here. But she may have moved to another country as she is a digital nomad
Yes, I'm familiar. I like her content. I reached out to her as well, but she left KL and is Vietnam.
From our experience, since malaysians are mostly considered "coloured" in a "white" perspective, We are used to all kinds of people. Black or white. But we do hv issues with african "students".
Hope your stay is pleasant and have a great journey.
Enjoy the stay and good luck on your endeavour Tbh we generally dont play 'black' card overhere as 'black' is not a thing over here. We have our own 'black' but we never call anyone as 'black' except those who adopted black as their nickname. We didn't call ethnicity based on their skin colour and we are proud of it. In fact we have black malay, chinese, indian, me included 😂😂😂 You may refer yourself as african instead of 'black' to address ur ethnicity.. the term 'black' is western culture that we are not a fan of 😂😂😂 The term foreigner means either they are expat or illegal immigrants that we are not a fan of if you understand what i mean. And some of us cant distinguish between the two causing you are being rejected to find a house to rent.
Thank you for breaking it down. I don't l Iike the term black myself either, but for the Americans it helps determine what I'm talking about.
Yeah. We do have an issue with Illegals. Part of the problem is that we are generally good natured stemming from decades of coexisting peacefully in a multicultural society. Now, some of these illegals take advantage of this good nature and feel that it extends to them too. They are illegals, they don't pay taxes and they do not bother to understand the culture. Yes we have a problem. In your case Sister, any bad experience is most probably due to some bad hats that tarnished African descent in general. Just open your mouth more. That accent will keep you apart.
@@chajonesso what's the polite way to address your ethnicity?
@@GajahMengaumTheBruce My ethnicity? I'm Native-Black American.
That happened to me before I had to go to the emergency room wait for four hours because I have stomach pain and I had to get an IV
Oh, no. I'm glad you are better!!!!
