all of them are beautiful!
What a good idea!
I'm with you on this: I don't like the feel of microfiber and not a fan of those colors. But you could use the fabric as foundations in quilts - string quilts, crazy quilts, crumb quilts , etc.
Will try this. Incontinence requires useful ideas.
Thats a great point! Thanks for your comment.
Sew binding to back side and flip to front. Instead of stitch in the ditch sew it down neatly on the front. Stitches on the back might show a bit but nothing will be missed. You aren’t stitching blind when you do it this way.
Thank-you! I will try it this way!😃
I think you’re using a crayola marker which really isn’t safe for fabric use.
Thanks for the feedback!
A walking foot would have stopped that bunching
thanks!
Dara, would you please consider making a video of how you trace the quilting pattern? You are REAL and I love that you share what works and what doesn't. There is love in your projects; perfection doesn't even come close to that! (hope that came out the way I intend it! 😄 ~Kelly
Hi Kelly, thanks for your comment - I have a quilt in the works and I will show the quilt pattern tracing - hopefully soon - its been giving me trouble
Alright! I'm inspired! I have a favorite top that just hangs on me a bit oddly. I was not confident in tackling the tweak myself. So, it's been hanging in my closet for TWO YEARS because I was going to take it to a seamstress. But, I can do it! I will be so thrilled to wear it this coming Fall! Thank you, Dara! ~Kelly
You are so welcome and thanks for your comment! I'm so please that you will give it a go yourself.
Awesome! I use that Sharpie trick! Well done! ~k
Thank-you!
Hi Dara! I'm a new subscriber and getting ready to venture into quilting. Love this idea! And you have executed it beautifully. Thanks for keeping it real and showing your work-arounds. Help? What size and type of needles did you use for your machine stitching and your hand stitching? Thanks! And keep 'em coming!!! Greetings from St. Louis, MO. ~Kelly🪡
wow I'm so pleased you will give it a try! Hand stitching - just any old variety pack of needles from the fabric store - then keep experimenting with the size/thickness until you find one that YOU find comfortable in your hand and with the items you are sewing. - That's what I do. Machine needles were 80/12 or 90/14 sharps - I think these are basically "all purpose" sizes.
I am amazed. You are fearless! You use any fabric and you finish them with hand quilting: I will only use American quilting fabric or Bali batiks. I send my quilts away for professional quilting. You have inspired me! I will definitely try using thrifted fabrics and I will continue to watch your channel.
Thank you so much Pamela! One thing about quilting with thrifted or discarded stuff is that its very low risk on the money side :). I hope you do try it- its very slow going but fun too.
love use of repurposed items, and reversible! great idea, thanks for sharing♥♥
Thank- you so much for your lovely comment!
Very pretty quilts
Thank-you so much!

Great nursery pads Dara. Desley🇦🇺
thank-you so much!
Thanks for the inspiration and video on what to do.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful quilts from the heart. Good luck on your journey. Hand quilting is lovely and time consuming but so worth it. I did a grandmothers fam by hand and my daughter loves it. I doing a hexagon 1 inch (work in progress) and wondering what I was thinking at the time of starting. Subscribed.
Thanks for your comment Tessie - I couldn't agree more. I am working on a 1.5 inch square EPP - its VERY SLOW GOING :) I wish you smooth sewing on your hexagons!
Watching from England. Loved how you created and put this all together and persevering to the end. Well worth all the effort as you've created a unique beautiful quilt 🥰
Thank-you so much - it did very like a marathon - it was took me an entire winter of working on it most afternoons and evenings - Thanks for the lovely compliment.
Good for you. No one has ever refused the gift of a quilt because it wasn't perfect😊
Thanks so much for your kind comment!
Yes, what kind of marker is that?
A Crayola washable marker - it washes out and often will just rinse out. Thanks for your question!
What are you marking with?

Nice quilt. I like that it is made of recycled materials.

It is just as warm…perfection and isn’t nearly as cozy….the story is priceless ❤
Thank-you so much! I really appreciate your kind comment.
Oh I love this! What a fantastic method! And I love that you’ve used stuff you already had! So impressive! And you hand quilted all those blocks! Wow that would’ve taken a while but I bet was so enjoyable :) thanks for sharing this :)
Thank-you so much! Yes, it took me about 3 months to do the quilting . But it was worth it. Thanks for your comment and your kind words.

Thank-you sweetheart!
You are a great lady. A real make do woman. I love that! This is my style. I've watched several of your videos and I'm really impressed.
Oh my gosh! That was such a lovely comment to read. Thank-you so much 👋♥
@@DelightfullyDara welcome
7:40 Harriet: “This is MY bed! My mom made it just for me, she’s taking pictures of me, so I’m going to do a movie star performance” …….. “thanks mom!” xoxo e. N.B. 🇨🇦
She's quite a shy little cat - it was touch and go to get her on video!
Very creative!! Where there’s a will………. xoxo e. N.B. 🇨🇦
Thank-you!
I just “bumped” into your video today… interesting quilts you’ve made. Hand quilting…….yeesh……. I admire anyone who hand quilts anything, but I just don’t have the patience for it. Glad I found you…. Look forward to seeing your creations. xoxo e. N.B, 🇨🇦
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words and your taking the time to leave a comment.
You are so creative! What a sweet kitty cat
Thank-you Della!
I love this quilt. I'm also casual about edges, etc. Though I am learning better techniques, I will never be the one eith a near perfect quilt.
Thank-you for the compliment and its very gratifying to know I'm not the only one who embraces perfectly imperfect😄.
Binding is my bugaboo. Rarely get a great binding done.
Thanks for sharing that - I find it tricky too!
Love it my son has me so many unused shirts will try to make one can't go for king size will get discouraged discouraged nice work
Thank-you! I appreciate it and wish you the best with your project! I made a throw size out of my husbands dress shirts - the shirts wear out at the collar and cuffs but so much great fabric still left in them - its one of the reasons I started trying my hand at quilting.
Thanks for the video. Great poses too.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful quilts! Question on how you assembled and then quilted each square. Could you please explain your process? I would like to try making this type of quilt 😃
Hi Paula, so for the crazy quilt you can visit the channel "Crazy Rebecca" - she has some tutorials on how to make one - that's how I learned how to make mine. For the shirt quilt - try searching the "Rail Fence Block" and you will get several tutorials. I have a demo on how I hand quilt in the first video I posted if you want to check that out. I'm planning to make another T-shirt quilt this winter so I will post that in the future. Hope this helps & thanks for your question.
@@DelightfullyDara I really was curious about the t-shirt quilt. After watching your video; I cut up one of my husband’s t-shirts last night into 5” squares; then cut a 5” square of batting and hand quilted the fabric and batting together, but I don’t think that’s how you did it🤔. Did you make like a little pillow of 3 layers? I thought your quilt just looked so comfortable and my husband has a zillion t-shirts🤣🤣🤣. I would really appreciate your help🙃
@@paulahughins7510 Hi Paula: so if you can hang in there, I'm thinking to make another quilt like that one this fall and I will make a video of it. If you are eager to get going, I'll try to explain it here: I assembled/sewed all the squares into the quilt top and then laid the top onto the flannel sheet. then I rolled these 2 together like a swill roll cake. Then I laid that roll onto my table - its 2 tables pushed together so the whole queen size fit across without falling. One row at a time, I used pillow stuffing and made little mini pillows in each square. Then I sewed those big stitches of quilting with sock yarn. I did that sewing pattern to get it in a single go and knotted off the yarn after each square. I went row by row like that. It took me about 3 weeks of working on it most evenings. At the end, I used the self-binding method & bound it with the backing sheet. Wishing you great quilting vibes if you give it a try!
I’m eagerly awaiting your tutorial on how to make this quilt!!! I will cut up my t-shirts in the meantime and get them sewn together. Thank you sew much for explaining your process 😘
I love hand sewing, too! My hubby likes for me to watch tv for about 45 min in the evening, so i have ready my epp kit by my chair. It calms me.
It's so great to know I'm not the only one! Thanks for sharing and thanks for your comment 😀
Much better not checkered❣️
Thank-you!
Did you use Kids Crayola for marking? Smart
I sure do! It washes out no problem!
Very pretty!
Thank-you!
Thank you!!
Thank-you back!
