    Hi - I have been trying to figure out how to contact you about the Volvo key stuck in the ignition but comments are turned off on that video - What do I lube the arm/cable with to stop it from getting stuck? I was thinking of just hitting it with WD-40 but wanted to know if I should use something else. Thank you! You saved me from being stuck somewhere with the video.

    Is it possible to program the module using either the Snap-On or Autel scanners?

    I'm needing to program a glow plug module on a 2013 Silverado 3500 HD 6.6, would this software be what you recommend? I have both the Snap-on and Autel scanners with a j box, both give me the option to set the inj flow rates, however, it is not possible to program the actual module using these scanners. Do I only have to set the inj flow rates ? Or do I also have to go the route of laptop programming in addition to setting the flow rates ? Do you know of another route to take in this situation?

    Wouldn’t it be easier to find a used module that matches your LML and skip the programming. GM is obnoxious with all the programming bulls**t. The reason I avoid working on them

  • @jaylooney1477

    Problem is, it’s a common issue so the chances on getting a faulty used module is high. Plus shops and customers want to fix a problem once. Not over and over since the used module might not last very long.

    Will this program just the GPCM or mess with the ECU as well? Curious how this would interfere with a Duramax that does not have the aftertreatment system on it anymore

    It just marries the gpcm to the ecm. It shouldn’t change any programming for a def delete

    I’ve had some issues with my LML Duramax. A couple years ago I replaced the batteries and replaced the alternator twice. Second time was an upgrade from a 150 amp alternator to 220a I believe. After replacing the alternator a couple years ago I went on a road trip, when I arrived at my destination, truck wouldn’t turn off even with the key out of the ignition. Had to remove two 5a microfuses. Those fuses go to 2 Upfitter switches. Down to this day if I put them in, the truck wouldn’t turn off. It runs fine, but i’m now having a separate issue with different codes talking about NOx sensor circuit high output. Recently had a Shop diagnosed my downstream nox sensor. I replaced it with a brand new ac delco. My diagnostic tool is not really recognizing it, unless it was faulty is just not showing any levels on live data. I am getting a P0381code permanent showing glow plug heater indicator circuit. Was thinking of replacing the module but now I wonder if I can put a single darn part on my truck without having to take it to the dealer. I recently even get a temporary code showing water in fuel which I drained and there wasn’t a drop. Could it be something as simple as my water in fuel sensor with the plug? I’m grabbing at straws here but feel kind of helpless when I take it to the dealer. Oh yeah, The whole reason I replaced the nox sensor is because i’m getting a service exhaust system notification on the dash and I am in limp mode for several more miles before four mph. Was going to try to do the repair, then service regen.Any thoughts?

  • @jaylooney1477
    @jaylooney14773 жыл бұрын

    I am an independent repair shop using an aftermarket pass through j2534 device. You must log into Acdelco tech connect, download their software and buy a pass through device. A mongoose cable is the inexpensive way to do only GM, then a laptop, check gms website for compatibility on the laptop you want to use. Then a $55 subscription. It’s complicated and if you don’t know what you are doing you can “brick” your module ultimately rendering it useless.

  • @jaylooney1477
    @jaylooney14776 жыл бұрын

    Order a new fob from BMW parts department, you will need proof of ownership. Usually takes 2-3 days for the fob to come in. The comfort access will not work. Comfort access can only be programmed to 2 key fobs. This is why you must disable the missing key fob and program the new one. If the car does not have comfort access, the new bmw key will work without any programming as long as you ordered it from BMW using the vin#
