It would be great to see this with a lighter yarn. Your dark yarn And dark background is not working.

I’m a flicker, I hold the yarn in my other hand. I have tried this before but my pinky wants to do its own thing and ends up sore. When I learn a technique, I start slow and concentrate on accuracy alone. That’s how I learned to flick. I’m gonna try this again tho. I’ve wondered how else I could hold the yarn and pressing it against the needles seem like a better option. Right now, I can purl twice as fast than knit when holding the yarn on my right hand. When I do colour stranded work, I use both hands.

I'm definitely going to try to apply your method to my own knitting, thanks again so much for sharing! <3

This is almost the same way I taught myself to knit continental style about 20 years ago. Just a slight difference in positioning the left middle finger. I find that having the hands and needles closer together makes such a difference. I would be interested to see how you purl, and hope you will add that and more videos in English. Thank you for this video!

This was super helpful! This was way more helpful than any other video out there, it's the difference between yarn over vs yarn under for me, that's the thing I couldn't understand. You helped me see that when nobody else explained it. I'm going to practice this new method now and see if my speed picks up, thank you so much!

what helped me knittin continental was knitting a norwegian (setesdal/lusekofte) cardigan. It was a two toned jacquard knitted in the right so i would put one thread in each hand (you want to put contrasted thread on top of the background to help it even out, for fair isle you do the opposite to make the pattern more readable) and by the end of the cardigan i would be used to knitting continental (not as much as flicking but now it feels fine enough to switch, i can only do basic knit stich with it, might want to learn purling if i ever feel the need to in the future) might even sstart parlour knitting if i ever feel like it

I've seen her purling in other videos and I'm shocked because we have the exact same style in both knitting and purling, and I've never seen anyone else purl like me. What I do is basically treat the right needle as the only active participant and use it to scoop the yarn through. I enter the front loop with my right needle at an almost 90 degree angle to the left needle (the left needle points to my right, and the right is pointing at me if that makes more sense). Then just try to scoop the yarn with the right needle ignoring what your left hand is doing. You'll notice the finger keeping the tension will automatically try to compensate by moving towards you, just let it do its thing, focus on your right needle only. It's very quick and easy once you get the hang of it. I hope my explanation makes sense!
