The Hound admired the Starks. He could see how important family loyalty was to them. Something he never got from his father or brother. He would have died to protect them.

It’s interesting that in the books, these two are much closer in age and there’s this interesting dynamic where the admiration from hound is a bit more protective and interested in sansa, that she’s young and beautiful and unhurt, and the fear sansa has for the hound initially, is because despite being young, he’s aged and cruel. throughout the hounds story, he softens and learns to direct his service towards people worthy of it whereas sansa finally learns cersei’s warning about love leading you to allow men to do terrible things to you.

Probably by far one of the best scenes in the entire show. Great performance by both. Love how Sansa developed her strong character though her unpleasant experience.

This scene was awesome, I'm glad Sandor got to reunite with the Stark girls. They needed him as much as he needed them...He fills that void that they know if they ever need a man for help he will be there like the father they lost.

Is funny. Brianna was the one that was given the oath to protect the Stark girls, but I feel like the one that helped put them on the path they needed was the hound. He protected Sansa till she was ready to fly on her own. Ari learned a lot from him and in the end, He saved her from being just like him.

The Hound was, to me anyway, was one character that encompassed an inner journey that is perhaps the most human, realistic and relatable to many regular people. He was overcome by a life wrought with negative experiences, and suffered a longing feeling of lament for an existence he knew he'd never likely have...and although he fell victim to indulging the more primal instincts that fed his inner sadness (violence and vulgarity) it's easy to see his inner conflict- one that stirred the impulsive reactions he had when the people who represented his ideals of innocence and beauty were threatened. I always found him to be the most emotionally compelling character
