  The stage band in H.S. loved this song, and we got good at it . The band director rearranged the flute part to using an oboe. It worked. The oboe gave a warmer feel to the song.

  In March 1971, I was an 18 yo in the US Navy stationed in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. I was so homesick I couldn't stand myself. I didn't want to eat or leave my room the first few weeks I was there. My roommate had the album with 'Color My World' and I played it over and over and over in my misery. Thankfully, I eventually snapped out of my funk and realized I was in a beautiful country with lots of exploring to undertake. I still have a special place in my heart for this song.
