Edwin Cohen, GLOBALTVtalkshow

Well, I call it "The Global Meeting Room", a place bringing together business people from across silos, across industries, across time, space, borders and cultures ...to meet, exchange ideas, discuss common issues and situations. Bottom-line: Get to know "you" better.. carry-on in "good cheer".

Always such a wonderful time speaking with you on your podcast, Ed, especially for such an important topic (that many corporate leaders unfortunately get wrong). Delegation as a means of career and professional development is the core to getting delegation right. And even in those situations where you're "delegating" menial work that you simply need to get off your desk because of your limited bandwidth, it's important to position it properly when discussing it with the employee. When employees understand that you'll stay in touch with them throughout the implementation period of the delegation assignment and that you'll help make them become the "subject matter expert" in that particular space and build their self-confidence, then delegating becomes easier for the manager and better appreciated by the staff members. What you DON'T want to do is hand something off, tell your employees they're on their own to "figure out for themselves," and then make them feel like you're waiting for them to make a mistake with that new responsibility (they they never asked for in the first place). Help people understand that you're delegating for their own benefit AND share how much it will help you and the rest of the team as well. Thanks again for the invite to join you!

One of the best quotes by Heather de Cruz-Cornaire "...data showed us that what people really want is human connection they want human connection in the context of a very, very emotional roller coaster experience of moving um and then what we found was that policy so let's look at what's missing right in the talent Mobility space what's missing in policy and what we found was using process of thematic analysis that was very rigorous what we found was that the psychological contract with the Deep expectations of what is expected from policy there was a mismatch okay so what do we do about it..."

Thought I had commented and wanted to applaud this show. Thank you for raising the topic of intercultural competence, and the investment companies are losing by not being inclusive. The story of the Indian Specialist was sad, and I share this view. Expats have a harder time making contacts. Same here in Zurich. We can show them where they find their people and where they feel at home. I'm so glad we are continuing to promote intercultural understanding, peace and building bridges around the globe.

I loved this. About 90% of failed assignments are lack of support for the spouse! I would love to chat to Dale about Repatriation. Finding the stats for failed assignments and repatriation is tough, I wonder if Dale is aware of some literature I am unaware of. As I assemble Life in the Re-Entry Lane I am very keen to hang the information on the stats.

We are talking about digital detox retreats and why this seems like it takes a lot of work to do when you are a business owner. How I slowed down this fall, and how this helped me serve my clients better. Cultural differences between US Americans and German-language speakers and how this shows in how we conduct business. We are also talking about #RelocateTheProfit.
