If the snake will sleep with you 😂🤣
if my goats saw that, you wouldnt have a grass tent
Vaseline and laundy lint.
So ive slepped in chicago super deep freeze outdoors...... wind and all. In just few layers and overalls....... best find a wind block. If not its better to keep moving until sun up. They make usb powered drink warmers discs things..... work great with power banks......just shove them in yur jacket.
Man, I hope you don’t wake up next to a bear in the morning😂 God bless my friend. Hawaii 🤙
Its a great place to stay warm if you are a chainsmoker.
Find some hay bales in the middle of winter and dig in. Very warm and comfortable.
This guy is really good!! Love the bird beak application! Everything spins off it & makes the bowline so versatile!! Outstanding!!!
Another tip. Building a debris hut. Works better if you first plie a big layer of leaves first then the grass straw that will cut down on the dust you mentioned. But you would need more sticks to support the leaves and then the grass straw over the leaves Works really well. Alot of straw for bedding then a layer of leaves, straw, leaves it will help alot with keeping the cold ground from leaching out your body heat. The hatch you made will suffice
I find if you pile enough debris on the shelter eventually you will get it to stay warm.valume and mass is the key
Debris shelters are so underater
How do you pee?
He's not going to to some gimmick, janky(?) shelter... Wait...what? It's going to be usefull.
Great video! Curious about the different string materials. I've always heard not to use "fast flight" materials for recurves. Can you explain? Bowstrings are getting so expensive now and I have a small collection of recurves, so seriously considering making my own. It was a little hard to see what you were doing when you started twisting the strings together. I think I will have to watch again. Thanks.
Good question! Making your own strings is definitely cheaper so I would encourage anyone to go that route! A lot of older books say not to use fast flight or other low stretch string options however most recurve companies use low stretch stings now because of the improved performance in arrow speed. For a while they thought it would place too much shock on the tips and limbs but even a properly made self bow with a good tiller will not break because of a low stretch string. I have a few old fiberglass recurves, one being a Bear from the 50’s and none have had any problems, if your are concerned place more imbedded strings in the tips when you make them (or serving around the string ends) for more padding
Imagine that being your actual shelter to survive in and having to deal with deer and rabbits and everything else eating your shelter
The only thing missing was a fire inside to warm things up lol!
Are you sure breathing all that in is healthy?
Black locust belly always cracks on me I don't know how people make bows out of it
Your basically wearing a sleeping bag with that jumper suit
Okay so how would you improve sleeping in there if you had a crapped out sleeping bag or just a tarp? Or even just a big old wool blanket?
With that tinder-dry grass all around, the shelter needs a NO SMOKING sign. A fire, of any kind for any purpose, would be a big risk with this. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

21 please mate 👍 🍻 🍻 CHEERS 🍻 🍻
can you show how to repair an out valve? Puppy got a hold of mine and shredded the cover out valve of the big Agnes.
survival youtube is basically dudes building cubby houses made out of nature
If you light it with a lighter from the inside you will be even warmer 😂
ticks
I’m sneezing just watching this 😮
USAF Arctic Survival course teaches the same shelter frame, tarp on the outside, 10+” of snow over that, spruce boughs inside. Relatively warm shelter for sure
Try this in wet humidity reptile infested florida
The fill number, indicates how the down will loft. So you will need more down at 650 fill to achieve the same warmth as 850 fill. A sleeping bag of 850 fill will make the sleeping bag lighter and more compressible than a sleeping bag of 650 fill with the same temperature rating. Unfortunately I life in a damp county, and the down collapses after just a few hours due to the damp in the atmosphere, and wake up cold even with a good bag of 850 fill. So I opted for Climashield apex synthetic insulation, and is surprisingly good, and is equally compact with a long dissipation rate, so I wake up still warm. I hope you can get a sponsor to donate one to you, I would love to hear your opinions. Great video buddy. ATB
Great points thank you!
The method that I use works with any cordage and does not require any "snap backs". With your left hand pinch the line about twelve inches from the end where you want your bowline loop. With your right hand, make a small loop by twisting the working line, next to your left hand clockwise. Your working end will now be about ten inches long. Pass the end up through the small loop and leave a loop about three inches in diameter. That loop will be the bowline loop. Now, pass the working end under the left side of the standing line and down through the small loop. Pinch the small end to the bowline loop and pull the standing line. Done. If you go the right side of the standing line instead of the left, the working end will be outside of the bowline loop which, as far as I know, is not a problem.
Your bowline does not work for me. There is no "snap" Nothing snaps. If I try it another way, I do get a bowline with the running end on the outside of the loop. Please modify your procedure in order to eliminate the snap back. Thank you.
great video... good job
BadAss man 😎👍💯🔥
Perfect job😲👌🏻
What if it's really windy?
Yeah, looks super easy. 😂
So close! you can actually just buy a tent. Hope this helps sweety 😊
Seems flammable
Bad smell & all debris on your body Possible bugs and snakes It’s not good for sleep as you think
Wouldn't it help by adding some weight on top of the shelter, like tree boughs? I'm thinking that the weight would seal those spots wherever the drafts are getting in.
Yes, that would help!
How does it hold up against meteorites
man, uve been doing this for 3 days. U keep telling us "it works, its survival!", but it clearly doesnt work - u r cold, miserable, covered in dust and wake up all the time. With how much time u spent on this u couldve just built a bigger, more solid shelter and star a fire inside to be warm.
No, fleas and mites still full.
Got 3 alergic shocks just watching this
one thing he forgot to say...have you ever got up close to a herd of cows in winter...those beasts are as warm as furnaces...turning grass into heat, so snuggle up to a cow or make a cow sandwich...if you haven't got a cow or two, make use of all that grass and once you/ve tunnelled in, just munch, munch all night on the grass... munch, munch, you wont even notice you/re cold.
Dang how can u slept in da?
Remember that no haystack survival shelter will ever get warm enough “. So, your only hope in staying warm would be to set the hay on fire and your guaranteed to stay very warm
This has nothing with survive.
