@rupertperiwinkle4477 that's funny because it's now 11 mo ths later and a lot had happened since then INCLUDING a judge telling her that SHE is responsible for her bills now matter if she leaves them for me to pay or not. The bills in your name and you're not paying it for whatever reason it's on you not him. I won that case and kept everything and she has to pay alllllllll that back

@@driftaway2806 That's not what happened in my case. They stayed in the house and had to pay the bills. It was a domestic violence case. The judged also ordered them to pay a portion of my legal fees because they dragged their feet and sabotaged the sale.

People getting married should watch these types of videos....but don't. Anyone can get the marriage experience without saying "I do" by buying a random strange a house. That's actually cheaper. In an actual marriage you have to throw in a car and monthly payment for years as your ex shacks up with her new squeeze. I dated a woman in LA who was very clear marriage was out because that would terminate her alimony. The house she got in the divorce had appreciated more than $600k while the guy paid mortgage payments and rented a crap apartment. I can see why the suicide rate for men is so high during divorce.

It makes since to me that the one living in the house should be able to be protected from contracting the virus until the country is declared clear of covid and it's vairents. this is an unusual situation.

CDFA small fee for their service? Depends on where you live I guess...I was given the amount of $1500.00 and we have hardly anything to divide. House, TSP, ROTH acct. I guess that is $mall compared to $15,000-$30,000 fighting over money. I didn't like that it was his "set fee" and mine situation isn't that complicated --- no custody or child support. I am also having a hard time finding a lawyer that will draw up an agreement with all of the paperwork you mention, and providing them with facts. They (5) hate when I ask, "can I hire you to draw up a document?". They insist that I retain them, from 3,000 to 5,000. Thing is, I don't need them to defend me per say, because we are doing mediation. I just need their assistant (using their template and filling in the blanks) to type up the agreement, and I can bring that "legal document" to the mediation table. THen I will return and they can look at the final for errors, then file it and VIOLA' we're done! Is it so much to ask that I need to go 'that mediation table', prepared, laying out all the facts of what I want, fair and amicable ... adhering to my state laws. NO GAMES ! Not one lawyer will do it, it's always about $$$! Quite Frankly... I they act like NARCI$$I$T'$ ! Should I just get those docs from the CDFA and call it a day!? That doesn't seem realistic. What are your thoughts?

Did you hire a licensed Mediator? Actually, the job of the Mediator is to help you draft the agreement. Then once you and your soon-to-be-ex have agreed to everything you simply pay a Lawyer for a review to make sure your interests are protected and/or the Agreement is binding. But it's the Mediator who should be doing the preliminary work.

Yes, I like these videos and this man seems legit. However, most lieyers are just about billable time / getting in large retainer fees. You could read precedent cases on Westlaw (monthly fee to use this search engine but would be worth it); you can buy an up to date $300 family law precedent text book; up to date $300 family legislation text books. $300 blacks law dictionary. Do the work yourself. How much is your time worth compared to lieyers fees.
