A Channel Dedicated To The Fairground And Dance organ using recordings from the 1950s to the present day.My Thanks Go To Karl L Plastow For Supplying Many Of The Recordings And To Peter Mackett For Additional Information On The Music Arrangers.
That's not the Gavioli on the picture of the record (Pickwick SHM 928) we have of the Gavioli playing music (cover art has it with the traction engine behind it) - the organ identifies itself in the video as a Marenghi. See https: // youtu.be/ CO6AC7Tuu9w? si=QrOLWNU_xl_yHHSi Which has the cover art of the record (and play track 4 on side 2).

I remember seeing this organ back in the late seventies I believe at a steam rally at the bottom of the hill at Alexandra Palace North London !! Living not far away in North-West London it was something not to be missed ...a rare treat !! The generator for the organ was a 3 cylinder petrol engine which was hand cranked to start it !! The organ was popular with the locals sitting on a grass bank .....probably never seen or heard anything like it before !!

I have never heard this book on the organ before, must be one of the old ones that came with it when first imported by Alf Gardner, there were some rather strange arrangements with it!
@PeterMackett22 күн бұрын
I don't know the second tune, the third one is "Les Trois Cloches" ( The Jimmy Brown Song) All the old books are back with the organ now including many of the short dance books by Alphonse Dufey, Urbain van Wichelen, August Schollaert and others so hopefully we will be able to go through all these once restoration is complete as many i don't think i have ever heard!

Interesting as it's almost the same as the 89/98 key version but uses a lot less percussion than he usually does giving the castanets a chance instead of constant snare and bass drums.
