    Great motivation! I've never realized what they do till your video! Good explanation. Do u have a video on how to install one? Do they go into the ground, or just sit on top?

  • @figandcloverranch5871
    @figandcloverranch587110 күн бұрын

    Right to the ground !! You don’t want the small critters getting under the Tree tubes to access the base of your young tree . If they bite/eat your young tree there they will effectively Girdle the tree and kill it . Thanks for watching !! I love my tree tubes . I don’t have an install one specifically , but in my planting videos I do go over installing them . Might be time to make an install video 🤔

  • @figandcloverranch5871

    For sure a great start . But in deer country . The tubes keep them from rubbing antlers on tree and causing damage . But overall you can let the main trunk thicken up in the tube environment for some years . It’s like its own personal green house .

    I visited some people once who put white sand just in the shallow swim area of their pond. It was AMAZING. You could see right to bottom clear as a bell. I figured Ohio ponds were a bit murky but no its just the muddy bottom. The kids felt so safe in it and you could see little schools of minnows swimming about.

    I did this on Jun 1 with a "game bird mix" Haven't seen any emergence yet but the clover came back in full bloom 🌺 and the chicory is filling back in. I'm considering replanting rye when rain is in the forecast for the excellent side cover. I'm back to 14 hours day length in Aug/Sept so it should flower

    @@figandcloverranch5871 I've never tried it either but i'll keep you updated. If I could get it back to 4' + before the end of the growing season I'd be happy. My clover and alfalfa use it as vertical support and seem to get much bushier and the deer tend to stay longer with the cover it provides 🦌 Not sure how the sorghum and millet (if it comes up) will withstand the browse pressure.
