  Hey Andy! Bestaat er een sjabloon/werkwijze waarmee u die boemerangs maakt of kan u mij zoiets bezorgen? Als leerkracht in het secundair onderwijs zou ik het fantastisch vinden om dit met de leerlingen eens te proberen. (Ik zal u dan zeker vernoemen in mijn les, wat uw beroemdheid een boost zal geven. ;)) Edit: ik nam uw kanaal even onder de loep en vond al heel wat bruikbaar materiaal. Bedankt!

  Hallo Andy, leuk filmpje. Ik zag het een paar weken al op Iedereen Beroemd. Het is jammer dat ik niet in uw streek woon anders was ik al eens langs gekomen. Alle respect voor de boemerangs die je allemaal zelf maakt, (klasse) ik zou het wel willen doen maar heb helaas niet de ruimte en vooral het materiaal (zaag, rasp, vijl) ontbreekt mij. Ik gooi hier in Wetteren op een voetbalveld in recreatie domein De Warande. Het veld waar jij gooit lijkt nog iets groter. Het is inderdaad verslavend. Ik ben een grote fan van James Hoy hook boemerangs, dat zijn vooral verre vliegers (50 tot 60 meter bij harde worp) Zo bezit ik een boemerang van J.Hoy die 100 meter vliegt maar heb die alsnog niet durven gooien, deze wil ik enkel eens aan zee proberen. Maar zo een kartonnen exemplaar voor in huis wil ik wel eens maken in nabije toekomst. Veel succes nog en hopelijk niet teveel regen en wind de komende dagen. 😉

  Merciekes, ja afstand is soms lastig. Planning is om een keer in Hemiksem af te spreken met een andere boemerang liefhebber, da’s al een beetje dichterbij hé. James Hoy maakt inderdaad toffe dingen, heb een df2 van 70m, gebruik hem ook weinig wegens risico voor de bomen. Hopelijk mag het weer wat beteren , dit is zowat het slechtste najaar-winter-voorjaar dat je kunt hebben

  Muziekje zelf ineen geknutseld met garage band. Boemerang maken is niet zo moeilijk, het werpen is het moeilijkste. Maar als je niet weet hoe je moet werpen dan is het moeilijk om te weten wat er mis is aan je boemerang. Maar dat mag u niet tegen houden om te experimenteren. Have fun 👍

  Als kind had ik een soortgelijk iets, echter met een staart erachter. Bovenop en onderop het draaiende gedeelte bevestigd. Het was van plastic. Nu ik 53 ben ga ik iets soortgelijks maken om mee te experimenteren.

  @@klungelair mijn eerste boemerang is gemaakt. het is het type gesneden uit een plastieken deksel met de extra rondellen. en hij werkt perfect!! de kick die je krijgt, als je al na een paar worpen er eentje kunt opvangen, is geweldig toch

  @@DRONEALD heb je nog geen ervaring begin dan best met één met 3 of 4 vleugels, deze zijn makkelijker onder controle te krijgen vind ik. Best ook één van pp en niet van hout. Ben je linkshandig dan is de keuze wat beperkter. De skyblader van LMI & FOX is een aanrader en ook de spin racer is tof, beide zowel links als rechtshandig verkrijgbaar en soms online te verkrijgen bij decathlon. Je mag ook altijd eens komen proberen maar dan moet je wel tot in Oostmalle komen 😉

  Is yours the real one made in the USA? I read a review where the guy says these are now made in China and do NOT have the same quality with poor flight. I have the one from China and I cannot make it fly in a circle. The best I can do is get it to go 2/3 the way around and then it flattens out and drops 50 feet from me.

  I just got the Aerobie 3 pack with this, the pro blade, and the pro ring. I remember being a child vacationing in the outerbanks and convincing my parents to buy me the ring back then from a kittyhawk kites or something and it was pretty tough to get them to buy it. Don't remember what happened but I lost it at some point. I was always impressed with how far you could chuck it though. So now that I'm a big boy and saw the 3 pack on amazon for 20 bucks and I couldn't help but click buy. Just played with the orbiter yesterday and was able to catch it I dunno maybe 20% of the time or so. I had to flex mine a little bit to get it to arc instead of just fading out into the ground. One fun chuck I enjoyed was giving a level forehand throw as hard as I could and it would almost do a full loop. It would loop upwards until straight overhead and then float more or less straight down while upside down which was pretty fun. I had been doing elliptical for cardio but I think I might start chucking this thing more. It had me running around all over the place. I suspect as I get better with it it will become worse and worse cardio though.... lol

  Throwing a boomerang horizontally is not the way it should be, but apparently you noticed that too 😀. That can count as cardio training 🤪. I also have to tuck the wings up a bit and throw it with a lot of layover (about 2 o'clock) and throw it straight ahead or even a little bit down. With a good throw he has a nice flight, but for me it remains the most frustrating boomerang 🤬

  I have already made several fuzzy's for myself in 4mm birch plywood, 4mm pp, 3mm pp and they all fly fantastic. This was 5mm birch plywood and actually didn't fly well. I did some tinkering to get it to fly properly. At one point it turned way too short 😀 I attached lead to it to reach 20m and drilled holes in it to slow it down

  the inventor of the aerobic Orbiter himself knew nothing about boomerangs, he had designed it and the boomerang did not return. He then had to ask a boomerang expert what was wrong and the expert then made sure that the thing came back. If I'm right, he didn't even get a thank you for it

  it is indeed a very frustrating boomerang. Once you have found the right throwing technique, it has a nice flight. You have to be sure that it is not deformed, I first bend it up, throw it with a fair amount of layover and throw it down, aiming at the ground from a distance of 60 meters. This is also my least favorite boomerang

  It's because in 2017 aerobie sold the production rights of their products to another company (spin master) before then, all aerobie products were made in USA. Since 2017 it's all made in China. Product looks identical at first sight but performance is really bad. Original made in USA orbiter is best boomerang ever. The chinese orbiters look the same but they really suck.

I am up to 3 in my collection and would like to add some more, but there are so many choices out there. Your thoughts would be helpful. In english if you don't mind. I really like your "Best beginner boomerangs" video, it got me hooked.

  Hey Pat, it might be a fun idea to make a video about my top 10. Keep in mind that my favorite varies from day to day depending on the weather and my mood. My favorites are usually self-made boomerangs, so none that you can buy in the store, but there will be recognizable shapes. Bad weather at the moment and little time, so a video won't be available anytime soon. Which 3 models do you already have?

  @@klungelair I have a Aussie Fever and 2 Spin Racers. Of the Spin Racers one is a lefty other is for right handed. I'm a lefty myself but got the right for anyone that wants to try it. I would like to get a kilimanjaro boomerang but currently looks to be sold out, that beasts needs a lot of room. Hope you get good weather soon.

  @@patglass8263 I don't really know the Aussie Fever, but the Spin Racer is a fun one. Kilimanjaro looks similar to my Orbiter and expects it to have a similar flight. I'm sure it will become one of your favorites. It is a very different throw than the Spin Racer

  the spin racer is a good one to start with. Only to be used in little or no wind. Normally this should be thrown vertically with little or no layover and also slightly upwards, not horizontally, parallel to the ground but at an angle of approximately 15° upwards. But as with any boomerang you have to figure out how to throw it, a small bend in a wing can greatly change the flight and therefore the throw. If it doesn't work, have someone film your throw from the side, from the back or from the front, then we might be able to identify what went wrong.
