Educational channel about fishing and the environment.
My name is Billy and I am a passionate coastal angler based in Europe. I post videos where I show the real experience of angling in the Northern Hemisphere for cold water sea fishing.
I am looking to connect with the wider fishing community globally whilst making new fishing friends and future fishing buddies along the way!
My videos include a range of topics from day and night coastal angling excursions, tips and demonstrations on casting techniques, fishing tackle, baits, lures and equipment, choosing fishing locations, and techniques for handling and even cooking your catch…all delivered with some friendly Irish banter!
Fish on and I will see you on the beach!

Deadly as usual Billy! I'm quite fond of losing swivels😅😅
Of course you are 🤪 thanks Ciaran 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch lost about 40 the past week....worth every bit🤣🤣
@ciarandunne2741 🤣👌
Solid hints and tips brother, appreciated billy 🤘🏼
Thanks Paul, much appreciated Brother 😁👌
Swivel = S, superfluous W, widget I, impeding V, virtually E, every L, leader 😂 <><
Nice🤣👌
Awesome as always brother! was going to explain this in my next vid, but you stole my thunder now 🤣🤣😘
Sorry Matt 🤪 swivel on it brother 🤣👌
Over the years I've seen some really odd swivel placements. Budget wise, I've personally had some real luck with Temu tackle. I bought some really good terminal tackle and circle hooks recently and they were incredibly cheap. I used to be a terrible tackle snob, but have found some real deals on there.
, I get most of my tackle from the Chinese platforms. Just so long as you know the vendors, the quality is pretty good. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Stop buying from TEMU

BILLY!!!! 🙂
Thanks brother 😁👌
Just checking my subs and your mug pops up. Nice to see yourself again . Much love on ya bro!
Thanks David, much appreciated brother 😁👌
Blue skies and no rain - what's going on?!!!
I have to get lucky sooner or later 🤣 thanks Brother 😁👌
What type of bottom is here sand? And how deep is it?
Hi. The tide never goes out far enough so I don't know what the sand is like. The death of water ranges between 9 and 30 meters of water. Thanks Brother 👌
@@Billyfishing_watch thanks. But i Wonder where do you Get all your halibut jiggs and normal lures?
do you bring them home in a bucket of sea water or do you clean them and put them on ice before you leave?
Hi. I clean and fillet them, take them home in a cool bag with cool blocks. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch thanks
Hey billy, been watching for a while and you are by far the best fishing youtuber, so inovative. I want to ask if i need to have a mono backing when using braided line because im about to switch. Will the braid slip on its own?
Hi, and thank you Brother. It all depends on what type of real you use, some have a rubber insert on the spool to stop the braid from slipping. Peen and daiwa, reels sometimes have it. But if not, you can just wrap the braid around the spool several times, and tie a uni knot on top. If you want to save some money, then put 4 strand braid on the bottom. And 8 strand braid as a top shot. 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch thanks billy, i cant express how much hassle you and your videos have saved me
@TRWOFFIClAL glad to help out 👌 thanks Brother
Have a Daiwa TDXS that im in the process of restoring to it's former glory. One thing with it, is that the spigot was really (and mean really) worn and there was only a gap of 6mm when the rod was in one piece. Did a few of the things you hear, graphite spray, wax etc. In the end i took the tip section female side into work and cut 4to5mm off the spigot. Fits wonderfully👌👌
I have done this myself in the past! It works well! But not everyone has the confidence to do it. This method is simple easy and effective. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice big old thornie mate! But listen, I've got some bad news for you Billy... not sure how to break it to you but, Mystic Meg is very very dead. It must have been a surprise to her too, she didn't see it coming.. 😬😅🤙🏻
Damn! Who am I going to get my weather report from now 🤣 thanks Pete 😁👌
@Billyfishing_watch you could just try making it up, pretty sure that's what the bloody meteorologists do! 😅🤙🏻
billy - get another one up mate - iam getting withdrawl symptoms here
Hello billy I love your videos could you do a trip to the Shetland islands sometime
If I can raise the cash,Sure! What can I catch there except cod?
@@Billyfishing_watch you can catch loads of saithe and pollack, haddock, whiting, flatfish like plaice and lemon sole and halibut and skate loads of species it’s better to fish by boat for a lot of it though probably depends on where in Shetland you are though
And lots of mackerel at some times of the year it’s a lot better fishing from spring to the end of October start of November I would say
@LeeAnderson-e5p fantastic variety, bottom fish from the shore! Thanks Brother 👌
@@Billyfishing_watch I’ve never catched a haddock or whiting or skate from shore but I’ve catched plenty of saithe and pollack and flatfish I’m sure somewhere in Shetland there would be though
Roundstone not in Co.Mayo , it's Co.Galway!!
Nice to see you Billy that was a stonker of a thorny should be happy with that one. But you won't be happy so it's go again hey mate 😊
What a beast of a fish! Thanks Adrian glad you like it 😁👌
Top man great action by the fart sign 😂 ❤
Can't be the good fart 🤣 thanks Brother 😁👌
Can’t knock a bit of free bait , good exercise, fresh air , win win 😁 appreciated Billy 🤘🏼🤘🏼
That's it Brother, thanks Paul 😁👌
Hi billy , sorry mate watched this days ago a forgot to leave comment 🙄, …. All good stuff there mate ,beauty of a ray bud, appreciate your efforts 🎣🤘🏼
No worries buddy, glad you liked it Paul! Thanks Brother 😁👌
No fancy two piece showel?!
If there was one! I would not buy it 😅 thanks brother 😁👌
I actually had a lot of trouble connecting with the lead 😅 you always manage to teach me new things! Thanks Billy!
Glad to help out, simple tips are always the best. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Too much water, even for fish!
That's right 🤣👌
Keep them coming billy, nice one
Thanks Brother 😁👌
Iv never been able to dig decent rag and no one will help show or tell me where to get them, despite probably only digging bait less than 10 sessions per year. As for lug I have my spot and don’t claim it it’s a public place for all and I happily tell fellow fishermen. I once dig a black lug that was the length of the top of my big finger to my elbow, a giant 😳
Hi bud . Just follow the link! Thanks Brother 😁👌

@@Billyfishing_watch great to watch this video again, I often only find harbour rag and the odd white rag so perhaps I need to dig further out
@dazzer273 also maybe try somewhere new! People who have their ragworm spots never want to share. And this is because people mistreat the the worm beds 👌
Brother Billy some nice worms and massive casts. Excellent quality video bother.
Your channel should be waaaaaay bigger. You are a Gem for the community.
Thank you so much brother, I really appreciate it😁👌
That's a handy tip Billy, I'll definitely give that a go when I next go digging. Cheers 👍👍
Thanks Graham, hope it helps out 😁👌
after 200 fishing trips onto overfished waters you can post the video of a catch :) it is pretty rare to catch anything bigger from shore in the medi
Yeah! It was hard going in Sicily, but I did manage a couple of fish. Fished hard every day for over two months. And this was the best fish. Thanks Brother 😁👌
I like surf fishing i like your videos Billy
Thanks Brother 😁👌
Cheers Billy, quick and to the point ! i like it :) always full of tips ;) i just bought a new bait pump and not tried pumping yet in Stavanger , so i think i better bring the auld fork too just to be on the safe side :) thanks once again for the tips
Hi. I have never been able to pump worms in Norway, unfortunately! The sand is just not fine enough, but somewhere there must be a place. So I have learned just to dig them. And as it goes, is usually pretty easy here. Thanks Brother 😁👌
maczenie tekstu za pomocą aparatu Hello Billy, is this worm different from the European 15 cm long worm that comes out of the ground after dark and is caught only at night?
Your talking about a normal Lob worm got from your lawn, LugWorm like Ragworm are only found in saltwater areas in sand and mud hence the gills. Your normal Earth Worms and Lob Worms do not have gills.
Yes it is! This worm is the marine equivalent of an earthworm . They live in the sand underneath the water. And have gills like a fish! And they are fantastic bait for most fish in Europe. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Let’s go Billy! Subs ticking up nicely brother! Fish on brother!
Thanks wizard, see you on the beach 😁👌
Billy, so nice of you to release Mr. Cod, I would've gotten the deep fryer going 😂 Tight lines Brother! 💯👌🐟
Thanks bud, glad you liked it 😁👌
My Dad would have loved where you were digging for lug so many in one spot . Cant remember where we use to go for lug back in the 70s as a nipper with the Dad probably baldoyle behind the wall .But for peeler crab from the Burrow as well . Jasus remember chasing my sister with big jack crabs around that beach . Now see what your video has done to me bringing back great memories , Anyway keep up the good work ps who was the camera person . Hope it was the Missus , Up the Dubs
You can't beat good fat lug like that! Pat. No wonder your Da would have loved it! Not exactly a wifey, more like a camera woman 😅 thanks brother 😁👌
amazing video brother thanks for doing another one of the digging content i enjoyed watching it will definitely be recommending you to my angler pals keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Lennon, much appreciated Brother 😁👌
Cracking worms mate 🐟🎣
Thanks Kevin! Now let's see what they catch 😁👌
I will have to try that. Great stuff Billy 👍🏾
Anytime Garri, always good to have lots of bait! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Great all round bait billy ,they catch a lot of fish , that beach as some killer plaice bait right there, nice billy👌🇳🇴
Just the best! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice billy, the effort paid off some nice rays there ,the weather's not being kind to you ,Ive just got back from northern Norway, the weather's better there, hope you hit that midnight sun ,,good luck on your travels 😉👍🇳🇴
Hey Junky. Yeah the weather has improved a bit now. That's hope the fishing does too, thanks Brother 😁👌
thanks Billy another great video, some corkers there 👍
Here in Lindesnes i´ve tested lugworm against "reker" a few times and the reker won the battle every time. But its difficult to find decent amounts of lugworm here because the lack of tidal zones. So maybe the fish just dont know these type of food here.
My experience has been different . Because I do really well around the fjords with lugworm in that area! Thanks Brother 😁👌
That's some pretty loose sand you got there, makes it easier to dig Lugs than an Irish typical strand, where You have to use a pump or fork instead of a shovel. How does your back feel after that nice workout? Nice Lug's.
Actually the ground is filled with rocks so it's pretty hard going. But there was plenty of worms. Thanks Brother 😁👌
You didn't snap it this time 👍
That's because the shovel was quality! Not like the one my brother gave me 😂 thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch hahaha 😂 got set up by your brother
Certainly some tidy sized lug there my friend 😊
They sure are! Thanks Brother 😁👌
Arctic Worms.... Boom...
Thanks Brother 😁👌
