    loved it. A huge amount of work, attention to the book and carefully selection of cast.. This one is crying out for crowdfunding.. an independent director with efforts to be true to the books is the only way anybody will take Pratchett from book to film. I feel Terrys work Needs that internal narrator just like the books - it worked for `hitchhikers' but you need the right narrator.

    Oooh thanks so much! Yeah I agree, if it was a whole film, narration would work well

    Just found this randomly. Love this. Mort is one of my favorite Discworld novels. In college I also got people together to make some Discworld fan stuff, and did a play based on the first few chapters of Going Postal.

    Due in part to the complexity of the novels, Discworld has been difficult to adapt to film - Pratchett was fond of an anecdote of a producer attempting to pitch an adaptation of Mort in the early 1990s but was told to "lose the Death angle" by US backers." - Wikipedia When I read that I had to burst into guffaws 🤣

    Em... hi! this is my uni project and the majority of the cast were fans of Sir Terry's amazing works, helping me out for free. Plus, read up some comments, yours is so far the harshest if I recall correctly, this is pretty old. Be kinder to people, man, I think most of the cast were great, still pretty proud of this

    The fella playing Cutwell is badly cast, his diction is terrible.

  • @JannyKey007
    @JannyKey0072 жыл бұрын

    Yeah honestly it was a problem finding Cutwell, this guy saved the day by jumping in on the project last minute tbh, so even though ideally I would have spent much more time finding the right guy for the role, you just have to work with what you've got you know. Also also this work was unpaid (well pizza and sandwiches for lunch only) and the rest of the cast were actual STP fans so that was a passion project for them too (i don't quite remember but i don't think Cutwell knew the original material), so in conclusion, don't judge him too harshly, he really tried 😉

    @@JannyKey007 AND, it's just an accent. I think of Cutwell as the kind of guy who mumbles, too. (Besides using bacon as a bookmark)

    You mean Ysabel? True, however the amount of time I had for casting was bery limited and in the end the casting choises were made based on the quality of acting. Georgie who is playing Ysabel was absolutely fantastic the whole time so I have no regrets here

    ... this Wasn't put out by the BBC?? amazing! if it hadn't been for the brevity, i honestly thought it was a totally "professional" piece of work. i do hope to see your names in future works actually being put out with the Actual original films already available on the BBC. with this calibre of work, i hardly doubt it will take long to get there if you so choose.

    Kept to the book. Mannerisms kept well done. Even when they're not talking, they're still acting the part and visually interesting. About the only complaint I could have about the whole series is probably put down to the quality of the microphones. If I said "for a university project" I still wouldn't be giving full credit for the work done. This is just a good production. Glad I saw it.
