  youre projecting too far out onto the face away from the power source during turns and losing power/speed as a result. watch a bit of tom curren, slater or even occy and delay your bottom turn a touch so you hit the shoulder at its apex, not down the line. Curren used to look down the line when taking off then look back toward the beach causing him to fade and come from behind the shoulder Slater does it too sometimes. Also practice being relaxed then applying pressure and strength when it is required, it looks like you are tense the entire wave, chill then strike, chill then strike, find that good rythm. Practice it on your surf skate if you've got one. not a hater just trying to help good vid

  Thanks for that! Interesting that you noticed I was tense. There were some really dumping waves coming through and it was about knee deep so I was nervous I would hit my head again… crazy how those nerves show when actually on the wave. Appreciate the tips! Keep them coming!

  That’s right! I’ve been blessed in other areas of my life and the most amazing thing is that they still all link back to surfing, but just not surfing competitively.

  Hey! Basically I wanted to free surf and my old board sponsor said they would only continue to sponsor me if I kept competing so that’s why we parted ways. I also wanted to find a shaper that I could work closely with as there’s a lot of benefits speaking directly to the shaper. Working with Abraham road I get to ride a bigger variety of boards rather than just performance boards, we get to make cool art work and chat about what’s working for me and what’s not working for me and much more!
