I have the xt5, but prefer the xt50. I have a Leica m6 ttl, Hasselblad 501cm, Ricoh gr3 and gr3x. Told you what cameras I have just like everyone else does, even though it’s pointless. That Ricoh gr3x is no slouch.

The biggest problem with this camera is the price. In Malaysia, it is going for RM7999 (Body only). Whereas the X-T5 only costs a little bit more RM8500 (Body only). You get a better battery, weather resistance, dual SD card & etc for just an extra RM500. At this point, the X-T50 makes no sense unless you are looking for a slightly smaller & lighter body.

Don't take life too seriously. I am with you on the Price and Film Simulation dial with the X-T50; Fujifilm as a company have always take risk and try to gain reach a bigger audience. Most of the time they do well and there are also time like X-pro3 and X-F10 which didn't appeal to the market. As for X-T50, they have succeeded in reaching the younger and new to the brand. ( and thus buying more new lenses) As for mature photographer there are still many other Fujifilm options for us. Cheers mate and have a great weekend.

It’s a cheap camera. The film simulations are fantastic. I use it with the 18mm 1.4,23mm 1.4, 33mm 1.4 and 90mm f2. Pictures are fantastic quality.

It isn't the entry level, that is the X-T30 II It looks like a classic SLR, you clearly haven't had one. The X-Txx has never had WR, it is a differentiator, as is the EVF, dials, dual card slots etc. It isn't meant to be paired with large lenses, size is literally the point of it being smaller. The FS dial is not aimed at you. The selling point of marketing the Fuji to new users is Film Simulations. Size, weight and cost of the X-T5 does not matter to *YOU* it does to *OTHERS*

I do not like zoom Lenses ! The new Fuji GF 500mm is compact and light weight, but the Fuji GFX cameras are big and heavy (like some Canon and Nikon cameras !!!), the Fuji GF 500mm is equivalent to 400mm in full frame, so not much reach, but you can crop a lot you use 100 megapixels ! I use the excellent Sony A7RIVA with 61 megapixel and the excellent Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports. Fuji X-H2 + 150-600mm = 2320 g, Sony A7RVA + Sigma 500mm = 2035 g, Fuji GFX 100SII = 2258 g.

All this are excellent option for consideration. Having all equal even when crop in; the 16 bit is the winner for IQ. teh downside; the reach is not there and AF is its weakest link. Not that it's bad. cheers

Thanks man. I just received this lens today. I am enjoying it so far, but have only shot around the house and yard. No spectacular or particularly interesting shots so far. However, the focusing has been mostly quite easy (I'm a newbie) and most of my shots have been quite sharp. I was wanting a really small, light and sharp lens for my T5. Something with magic. Your photos are amazing and inspiring (and dare I say), magical I'll keep going and use this lens over the next weeks to see if this manual lens can be the EDC lens I have been waiting for.

I think prices for all stuff have indeed increase. Many have compare the price of X-T30 II vs X-T50. Unfortunately it's not apple to apple comparison. As X-T50 now house IBIS. It is what it is. Those who loves it will eventually buy it. And those who think it's overprice might even get a X-T5. More value there. Cheers.

the biggest issue of Xt-50 is its 40MP sensor. now only XS-20 make more sense, as all the old lens still works fine with its 26MP sensor

You definitely should join the photography club. Since you do not have to worry about whether you can afford a camera. Back when I was young, I wanted to join so much but did not dare think about it because apart from the camera and lens, we still need to buy films and also the cost of developing them.
