Slow song❤

I saw Joe Jackson back in the 80s. It was the Golden Age of jazz-inflected, new wave pop music. It's worth being old now to have been young back then.

I've seen him a number of times live and if the concerts were musically brilliant or (once because of a cold) just ok, but he always had such a raw expression of feelings that you can't be anything but not blown away. Thanks for sharing this version

I am probably the least sentimental and romantic MF I know, but this song never fails to bring tears to my eyes, even after listening to it dozens of times over the years since it first came out. A true masterpiece, from a true master. And props to Graham Maby! As a fellow bass player, I'm a big fan.

Im so glad i grew up as a kid in the early mid 80s, This song takes me back to that period, Joe Jackson was such an underated musician in that era, musical genius🙏
This is okay, I guess. MCA refused to release it, and it sat on the shelf for years. If I'm a cigar chomping exec, I probably wouldn't have released it either.🫡

This was such a brave departure for him and he’s one of the very few who truly followed his muse and against the odds was able to keep a fan base large enough to allow him to continue this to this day. If the HOF was truly about artistic expression and independence, then Joe would have inducted years ago.

So carry on, and play us and play us and play us those slow songs!
