Just finished playing our first gaming session of Juicy Fruits and it was awesome! Congrats on a great game with lots of components for a great price! I think my favorite play was purchasing a four slot tile and zooming ahead in points, feels so awesome!

Just played my first game. It was…ok? I know it’s hot stuff right now but it feels VERY much like Terraforming Mars in a lot of respects; Card synergies, tiles on map, etc. Won’t be buying it but I get the hype for the most part. Just not for me.

@@pearldsouza7945 YES! I wish to retract everything I said! 😇 I’ve since played again… …and again… …and again… And then some! Bought the expansion as well. Excellent game! It’s funny, just about everyone I know had the same reaction I did: just didn’t “get it” on the first go. I picked up a used copy of Elysium yesterday ($5!) and got to talking with the guy and I asked “have you played Ark Nova yet??” And he said “yeah, we tried it and it’s just not for us…”. I was like “dude. I feel your pain. Believe me, try again!”. 👍

Mechanically, this forces players to make both beer and bread. Otherwise, you could just rush bread and score the highest you can. It creates a balancing act for the players rather than a linear path to victory. Thematically, I suppose you could say the game is called Beer AND Bread, not Beer OR Bread.

There was a way to save Red in 1:02:45 Green/White lay a train in Valladolid the other player passes, Blue and Pink may waste money and trains, but if both Green and White passes - company does not tank and have one more train for the last build. Though there is no city without Red in range, one well placed train from Yellow would unlock Murcia for the last train - no penalty and additional dividend step.

Played this at 85% so I can actually process the rules being explained. It isn't really a game summary, it's the actual rules being explained and would benefit from not being so fast. Otherwise very well done!

The rules never clarify whether or not you are allowed to put animals into an enclosure that has been "scored". Does anyone know what the rule is?

Yes, it's still an enclosure just like all the others. The scoring just gives you access to the attractions.

Great video. Only one remark: 3:29 You explain how to place subsequent harvest cards "creating a harvest column". Yes, correct, but there is no explanation about what goods you harvest from the harvest column. In this case, the third card played shows a water and a wheat. The harvest column means you collect as many tokens as in the columns of the last played card, hence all water and all wheat, hence you harvest 2 water and 3 wheat. This is one of the most important features of this game. So it is a pity that this is not explained properly.

I agree. It's an important part of the game, and it is a little fiddly, so it would have been a good addition to the "How to Play," video. Before You Play does a great job of explaining and playing this game for reference. 😊

That was my exact thought too. The rules were kind of vague and most videos don't describe how the harvest happens with multiple cards being played. A missed opportunity on their part in the video.

I don't get your answers about the harvest being vague or fiddly. I own the Deep Print English version of the game. The only difference between my printed rulebook and the version from Capstone Games on their website is the dark blue bar at the bottom of page 12 (Pegasus info is replaced with Capstone Games info). Page 5 shows an excellent example of how to harvest the resources when playing a 3rd card to the column. I had no problem with that, it is very clear. And my native language isn't English, but Dutch.

3:35 Ah ok, took me a second to understand but now I see. In that example, you don't harvest the rye nor the barley because they don't appear on the last played card. But you harvest any matching resource (and go up in the column to see if you get any more of that type of resource) from the last played card. Indeed a VERY important missed point. Thanks! :)

At 4:10, when talking about animal acquisition, this video differs significantly from the printed English rules. Firstly, the video heavily implies left-to-right selection of the two animals ("you may take the second of the animals depicted" pointing to the right-hand one) which is not required by the rules, one or both can be taken in any order. Secondly, the rules offer an alternative choice of taking "any 1 animal of your choice", making any one of the 5 in the supply, (according to posts on BGG) not limited to one of the two pictured. Why is this not mentioned at all?
