Lang Lang chose a similar tempo as Gilels and Ashkenazy did in playing this piece. I'm not sure what the problem it is to choose the unleashed-horse tempo which can be a valid manifestation of fantasy. By the way, what's the point of highlighting "reason" or "elegance" in this piece that features "fantasy" and "impromptu"? Yes, Yundi's version flowed more reasonably, while Lang's version flowed more unexpectedly. It's pretty clear to me as to which one is more robotic. Also, please don't overuse the word "musicality" which covers many aspects of musical ability. If you judge a person as being more "musical" only because he/she demonstrates more melodic harmony, then Franz Liszt's etudes and lieders must be unmusical pieces based on such a standard. "Musicality" is way more than melodic harmony. Try listen to Chopin's prelude op. 28 no. 2 which is nothing about harmony!

Never understood if they own the plane, and the Stewardess works with them,... then why take the risk with Dom spiking the water? Wouldn't it been so much easier and risk-free having the stewardess do it when she got the water? Dom could have easily goofed,, dropped the voal into the glass, not pour out the liquid correctly etc... Plot holes lol

if the flight attendant was already part of the team why didn't they just give the task of slipping the sedative in Fisher's first drink? instead of the whole passport pickpocket and toast plot that could had gone wrong... don't get me wrong this is an excelent movie but it has a lot of "why didn't they"s....

As much as I love this movie, it's hilariously inaccurate The rebel forces had modern weapons as well, including mortars and guns It also paints the rebels as patriotic heroes fighting for their way of traditional life, which appeals to a lot of westerners The reality being a LOT of samurai modernized and joined the Imperial army, and the rebels were mostly landlords who wanted to maintain power over their class privileges and indentured peasants.

Ok so I listened to both ( different iPad) line by line one behind each- one line LL pause , Yundi pause, fearing that that I may not be able to tell all the subtle difference- I am a lover of Lang Lang and you can hear his happy persona and mastery in each note as usual - For Yundi Li I heard his soft, somber serious persona- for this piece I love soft -flow -sweetness- tears- so am going to give Yundi Li not that he is better but I prefer his interpretation

Both are great Pianists. But my favorite Pianist is Yundi Li, who is not only good at Chopin, Liszt, but also quite good at Mozart's Piano pieces too. Honor, Courage, Duty, Sacrifice...it's just amazing how Hans Zimmer always finds a way to make those great themes for the movies he works on as a composer.

Lang is a very good pianist technically, but perhaps lacks a touch of deep artistry. The second pianist Yundi Li, not only has excellent technique; he surpasses himself and reaches unsuspected levels of perfection and immeasurable and transcendent art. This second pianist may be one of the best pianists there has been to date.
