hey Jozuke, if I wanted to get into strength training while training, what would you recommend for lifting vs trick sessions? Trickstrong is a great resource but I’m curious about your journey
@johzuke13 сағат бұрын
Any kind of routine that has a strength approach and that pushes you enough to get the progress you are looking for (heavier weights lifted with no to little form compromise) but still allows you to train hard on your main thing, tricking. I don't have a workout plan for you, I think everyone should have it personalized to their needs. Everyone has so different strengths and weaknesses and also different styles that need different kinds of conditioning.

Hey Johzuke! I recently started lifting to better prepare my body to handle tricking, what do you think are good goals to aim towards on exercises like squats and deadlifts? For context, I've always tricked on grass and couldn't ever stay consistent due to injuries and mental blocks and now I finally have access to a gym twice a week, so I wanna make sure I can fully utilize it 😂
@johzuke1Күн бұрын
Hey, I would just aim to improve your 1 rep max, 3 rep max and 5 rep max on both of those exercises. Test them and start improving. On squat you get most benefits when you are focusing on your form and mobility training too. If you are a beginner it's so much fun because you should be progressing very fast if you approach your training right and with little but consistent increases in the weights you do. Low reps are the key.
@johzuke1Күн бұрын
People have been asking and requesting a weight training session. So here is one. Never did a real time voice-over on my videos so this felt like a perfect chance to try it out. Forgot to mention that I really surprised myself because I have not been training heavy squats recently. Only had a couple light weighted squat mobility sessions two and three days ago to heal up my right knee, which felt bad from too much tricking lately. Yesterday was a full rest day so it had time to get better and today I felt very good. Recovery is so important.
