This was my 5th session on this track (2nd of the day). I have upgraded the brakes to DBA5000 rotor rings up front with Hawk Street pads, steel braided lines & BG DOT 4.0 fluid. First time I ran it here, it was really hot (110f) but I wasn't pushing the car too hard since it was my first time - so no fade at all. This second time I had more seat time here & knew the drive lines a little better, so I was going a lot harder. No brake fade at all in the first session, then in this, the second session, I started to feel it - mainly going through the tight "rattle snake" section at the end of the long back stretch. I changed up my braking line & they came back to me, but then I started having fun w/the BMW - I should have just passed him vs staying behind & following him. Afterwards I figured out it was my brake fluid. The BG fluid is a DOT 4, but it has a lower boil temp than the Castrol Race fluid, which I have since switched to. That should help me out, but my overall problem is my driving skills have finally reached the limits of what the car can do on a tight track like this. It's either do some major mods to it (which I don't really want to do) or go to a more open track (like COTA) where I don't need the brakes as much. Thanx for watching!

Helmets are not required nor needed, for numerous reasons.
If Goggins was a race car instructor
Exceptionally skilled instructor
Very big understatement! It's nice to have friends with skills, lol. If you like him instructing, you should watch HIS laps behind the wheel! Thanx for watching!
welding gloves :D
why was this dodge charger hellcat gapped by at least 4 bmws?
Um.... maybe because it was my first time driving hard on the Ring? maybe because most of the people on track were regulars, with purpose built track cars who had dozens, if not hundreds, of laps under their belt? maybe because most BMWs excel on this course while the Hellcats are built mainly for straight line driving? You pick...
@@bavarianmoparworks8668 ok no worries i was just asking 😁
@@li-_-il3841 no problem. There are so many variables when it comes to track days & very seldom is it about horsepower. A well setup hot hatch will generally tear up most high horsepower muscle cars on a track like this, especially with an experienced driver. Watch Driver Jon's lap ("Mustang GT" lap) which was done right after this lap & you can see the difference between a great driver behind a Hellcat & a good driver in a track focused BMW. Thanx for watching!
@@bavarianmoparworks8668: The Redeye is the exception to the “straight-line” rule.
@@RedEye19 A redeye on this track is no different from any other Hellcat. The only difference being if it's a wide body, thus slightly wider front tires. Even with 305s up front, it will still have a good deal of understeer. Regardless, all HC's do a lot better on road courses than most folks would give them credit for. Thanx for watching!
Big 4 door car with 3 people inside running around the ring with a P car is insane
If this hadn't been only the 2nd time behind the wheel for Driver Jon (he was still learning the limits of the car & trying out different chassis setups), he might have been able to keep him more in his sights, lol! Check out the "Mustang GT" lap which was his 3rd time in the car & using the most hard core setup (though with worn out tires). Thanx for watching!
Man U can really hear those tires screeching like hell. You were not gonna pass a bmw on the track
Tires were pretty much used up before this lap. But even with new rubber, no, we weren't going to catch the BMW in the twisties. From when he passed us to when we hit the yellow, the car was barely using any power to keep up with him (better tires & we could have easily passed him, but Driver John played it straight & kept behind him). after Carousel, the laws of physics kicked in, lol - Bimmer was gone. Thanx for watching!
Holy shit, I need that man as my instructor.
IF you like THAT, you should see HIM behind the wheel - go check out the "Mustang GT" lap....or go check out my buddy Dan's channel "Track Focused" & see Driver Jon lap the field on the GP track. Thanx for watching!
I also give credit where due this guy. Can drive hellcat!!! Wow nice job!
This was only his 2d time behind the wheel of this car & he was still figuring out which setup he lked better. You should watch his 3rd lap ("Mustang GT" lap) which was faster & much more fun. Thanx for watching!
@@bavarianmoparworks8668 okay
What a driver WOW
I met you at the car show in San Antonio today. Thanks again for taking the time to talk with my son and I. Got a new sub from me!
Was nice chatting w you guys as well - hope y'all had a great day & thanx for watching!
Is it MPH or KMPH?
This lap & the "Focus RS" lap were in KMH; The "Mustang" lap was in MPH. Thanx for watching!
