Jason molina looks like jeff bezos lol
Magnolia Electric Co. is a fantastic album. And Steve Albini did a world class job on it. (yes I know.. this is Josephine)
Coming back for the first time after Steve's death
welcome back! RIP Steve.
RIP
This is an important artifact. If it isn't available on Blu-ray, it should be.
Thank you :) We did a limited run of professionally authored DVD's when it first came out, and also a limited run of hand-made custom cases made by the band... but those are long gone. Perhaps we should make a kickstarter campaign to get a new physical release? Dig up some bonus features etc? If there is enough demand, I'll get on it.
@Pumapro I would definitely be interested in something like that.

Hopefully we'll get a deluxe/bonus version of Josephine someday.
What would you want to see on the deluxe/bonus version?
@@Pumapro Possibly?- London Bridge, This House, Astrabel, Rider.Shadow.Wolf., It's Made Me Cry, The Compass The Candle The Bell. Anything recorded and unreleased or maybe a couple live versions from around then? What do you think? Pete?
Amazing songwriter. Love this documentary.
Agreed! Thanks for watching and enjoying :)
Rest in Power Steve Albini
I was just watching this the other night, thinking of how grateful I am we still have Steve Albini. RIP, and goddammit!
Steve Albini is a fucking legend, plus a cool, nice dude... also incredibly smart and witty. He will be greatly missed. Damnit. RIP
This really sucks.
@@dimensionalbleedthrough2040 yep... but grateful that Steve was here.
@@Pumapro indeed
Came here for Steve Albini...4 years ago. This is maybe the 30th time I've watched this video, everything in and about it is absolutely amazing. Thanks for making this.
:(
rip steve
Thank you for the kind words. I'm so happy that you and others find this movie entertaining. It was super entertaining to make and continues to spread joy... I'm very grateful. These guys are so fun to hang out with. Stay tuned for a sequel of sorts someday "soon". #EuropeanTour -- Ben Schreiner
RIP Legend
Gone too soon. Grateful for what Steve shared with the world. RIP
i prefer this mix of shenandoah better than the one in the album
Thanks! That's so cool :) At least a few others have mentioned this... During the movie making process, I was grabbing feeds from the audio board, and ended up using some of the cuts that didn't make it on the album release... pretty cool to get to remix some of their stuff for the movie. --Ben
I'm in. Jason, find me. Lightninng strikes the eight-point star. Whipper Will.
I'm in too, friend :) Thanks for watching! More to come. Stay tuned. - Ben
1:02:50 is the most jason molina thing jason molina ever said
LOL, totally agree! I used this for the "trailer" for the movie.... kzread.info/dash/bejne/hHuEusSmctTRg8Y.html
What a waste what beautiful songs..
I love Molina I really felt like this album was weak though. Lyrically especially. The songs ohia stuff. Was what really got me
I am so mesmerized with the performances in this film, but especially 'this house'....man, I am under Molina's spell 100%
Do you know where I can listen to that song? I keep seeing it listed as a bonus track on josephine, But it's not on josephine.
Wonderful
Mark's voice is angelic :)
beautiful
does anyone know that tuning Jason talks about?
Please remind me when in the film this is discussed. I'll try to get you the answer.
Wonderful job! Ten Years Gone now :(
Kate Long is so talented :) RIP Jason.
WHAT is that first track? Anybody know? I'm a big fan but i guess haven't listened to Josephine in a while...Is it from that record?
The opening track is called "Rider. Shadow. Wolf." It was recorded during the Josephine recording session, but is not on the album... it was released as a 7''.
The performance of Shenandoah is so beautiful.
I said this on another song but I'll say it again... I just discovered Jason a couple of years ago.... He hits me where I live and yes where it hurts. I wish I discovered him earlier. I would have hitchhiked to go see him... I am somewhat of a guitar player and writer I'm actually trying to quit drinking right now but every time I put his music on I .. drink.... Well not every time but he puts me in the mood Peace and love to all Jason Molina lovers!!!!!!!! Also I'm really grateful that he put out so much music in a short time. So I can kind of get to know him!!!
Hey man, thanks for your post. I'm a recovering alcoholic, but I have the opposite reaction. His songs make me SO grateful that I'm NOT in the mood of the songs: Blind drunk --- only his poetic ways make it sound "romantic" -- though I've never heard him glamorize or even mentioned alcohol in any of his songs -- Besides the music, Jason's story is a warning about what too much alcohol will do to you. I understand that this music would trigger you to drink , even though he's NOT singing about the pleasures of hard drinking. HE singing about the sorrow and pain of the disease of alcoholism. IN AA -- which he needed -- we were told to stay away from people, place and things that trigger us -- if Jason's music triggers you, and you DO drink -- you' may be unaware that you are romanticizing his disease.I suggest giving Jason a break -- he's not going anywhere. Been sober 10 years and it's a great life -- if I can accept reality. Thanks JMHO>
This one stabs me RIGHT in the heart ❤️🖤❤️
Great songwriting, Great Music, Great job Chris Kupersmith! Thanks Magnolia!!!
I'm glad I got to see him play live in NYC. I still can't believe he's gone.
Same. at The Knitting Factory, April 2005
9:18 ouff.
very nice, funny that Chris forgot the lyric "is there even room for you" but Jennie covered for him :)
LOL, Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!!! You know it's true because it rhymes :)
For some reason my favorite musicians are dead. Their music has such a heavier feel. Jason Molinas voice and music brings a tear
The best singer in the world - Jason Molina RIP He deserved so much more success than he had. A Poet and a great musician. Nothing to add.
Agreed.
Ouch. That almost hurts my ears and i grew up in arcades....game over, try again.
LOL, I miss the old arcades.
This one will hurt forever. Doc is greatness! I wish Jason's exit solo on Shiloh was included on the final album cut. 1:00:50 .... kzread.info/dash/bejne/mHiVp8RmZ9OrgLQ.html
I’ve been obsessed with this song for months. To me, it’s a perfect country song. I hope to cover it with my band. Great work Mr. Rice nailing Molina’s unique delivery and cadence.
Mark is the man!
Out here, even the Prairie doubts the Horizon.
they really do b having strong communication skills
The man I love showed me Jason Molina One of the greatest musicians and bands of the last fifty years.
Damn what a spectacular documentary. Truly inspiring what these guys were up to. RIP Jason!
I really like you Jason Molina. You are a source of inspiration. I hope to find one day. RIP
The lyrics are really good, I was on the night shift once.
What type of nightshift job did you have?
Can someone tell me which is the title of the first song, the one that sounds while they are on the van? Thank you
“Rider. Shadow. Wolf.”
RIP
I love her voice
Gorgeous.
Wish, every day, that he were still around.
lol 2009 indie fashion was terrible
Honestly yeah lololol
Love you Pete.
Everyone loves Pete :)
Please, qualcuno che in memoria di Jason inserisca i sottotitoli in Italiano. Qui in Italia siamo tanti a volerlo ricordare.
(cit and autocit)
Weird question, but what's that guitar that Molina picks up around the 4 minute mark? I've never seen one like it
