    The problem with both sorgum or sudan grass, then the hybrid, is after the first frost, both will produce prussic acid [sorgum more so than sudan] , which can/will kill cattle grazing on it. Check it out.

    Those who look at the thinking process say that setting out to find 'the best' are automatically placing difficulty in achieving results. Better to look for a good solution and use it until a better one comes along. The best is not ever attained until all the infinite possible variations are examined and compared. Things evolve as time passes.

    To much work, dig a hole, pit, start layering it with whatever organics you have, dig out the rotted residue, or add dirt/soil, move your pit. Keep it simple, i burn charcoal, add layers, even use in the chicken coop in bedding. Can't be bothered with cans all over. Do have one 44"x48" 36"H bin where i have a valve, could use a chem tote, i add compost, greens, etc make a tea, filter it, use a Mazzei injector to add to irrigation system, other than that its just simple piles, pit, keepin it simple.

    Too much compost impacts nitrogen and phosphorus levels. People do not realize you can over compost soil. I know because I've done it.

    Omg! Don't panic people, make your compost, mix it with the soil in your ground, plant your produce, add water & it will grow! Plants have been growing in soil since time began, they'll grow in yours.

    I used to buy mushroom compost ever 3 years. It made no difference in productivity, I just used it as a mulch. It really suppresses weeds at a 2-3 inch depth the year I apply it. The second year it's still is suppressing weeds but not as well. By the 3rd year it's basically gone and my soil needs to be worked again because it gets too hard to plants something in. I buying the compost and use just grass clipping instead and that actually does improve my soil. But I don't have enough of it so I mix it with chopped straw now and it still pretty good. I make very little compost because I find the grass clippings are best used as a mulch and because of that I don't have enough nitrogen to actually make compost anymore lol.

    I let woodchips sit for a year or so and then dig out from the middle and add to my normal compost at around 10% of the pile, they break down really well using berkley meathod

    Worms can do the work for you when applying mulch long term the same as in the wood where trees have fallen rotting rich black soil.

    Utilize vertical easily with a football stadium design for the seating... Instead of people in the stadium thousands and thousands of trays... Trucks can roll into the infield for easy loading and unloading... Cart could be used in the walkways between the levels and then you have to use artificial lighting at night to make it absolutely flourish 🛐📈

    Humic acid can only be found in humus and not in compost as compost is a product made by humans through heating proces, so there’s no humus in compost. Only soil life creates humus.

    How does aerating too long INCREASE anerobic microbes??

  • @ikke.gernoasje
    @ikke.gernoasjeАй бұрын

    So if you are in an area where it rains a lot and you have compacted soil, the water won't be drained. That makes the soil go anaërobic. That means mostly bad bacteria???... Ph will drop and veggies needing a ph 8 won't grow as it should be. On top of that there will be to much toxicity in the soil???... Think there's a problem in that way of thinking as NOT all anaerobic bacteria are bad. I think there must in deed be more aerobic than anaerobic bacteria, but just as with the nitrogen/carbon there must be an 1 to 3 ratio water/air. It's generally know, also in humans, that the more oxygen there is the bigger the living being...

    "Ya know, I'm not actually a scientist, but I do have eyes. And just looking at these results, I would say -- hmmm -- that looked liked it worked." Yyyyup!! Thanks @DiegoFooter for testing and sharing! Would love to see more detailed comparison of results like timing, temp, and fungal:bacterial ratios. Also, would love to see more testing in hot, arid (very limited water) conditions.
