Stop blaming mainland China and the Communists. Hong Kong lost the "Hong Kong Spirit" you can't face the reality and don't want to work hard and blaming on mainland China. I can tell you this, mainland China is working 10 times harder than everybody.

Blaming China / the government and working hard are two different matters. I cannot see any logical connections between the two. People in the 70's and 80's worked round the clock, but they also scolded the government fiercely. Besides, we must admit the Chinese government is corrupt and the SAR government is impotent.
Hong Kongers are Chinese and Hong Kong is part of the Chinese nation. Just because you don't like the Communist Party of China does not change the fact that you are still Chinese.

Ask a Quebecois in Canada if they will die for Canada n the next thing u will hear is a mouth full of "The province of Quebec should be independent!" Do a search on google for Quebec n u will c. Quebec is actually now in the middle of an independence vote! N'other example would be Ireland n Scotland in the UK. LOL ask the Irish if the would die for England n they smack in the face. u heard of the IRA? I C that U MUST BE FROM TAIWAN! I grew up in N,America. My dreams of democracy are long gone!

LOL I wish China is ONE SINGLE party! As u said there are many fractions within the Chinese govt! And who says China is aiming for democracy? LOL I wouldnt recommend it to China at all! LOL look at HK, its mess! N that mess can not be spread throughout China, it will lead to civil war like back in the 1920s when China was under democracy n the KMT rule! Anyways, even in the west there r protest against the govt. LOL look at Europe n how the govt cracked down on protestors!

Maoism is long gone! Again the New China is far from hardcore communism! The future of the world is socialism with freedom n rights at high stakes. Canada's way of governing is the future. Even the Americans are taking on socialist traits with universal healthcare n govt intervention in the Markets. Pure democracy n hardcore communism are long dead. If u cant see that then I m sorry, u r blinded! I know you love MAO and I DO TOO! but dont dwell on it. China has moved on, haven't you?

The Chinese govt is far from hardcore communism. U should know that. Dictatorship? Then why is Hu Jin Tao stepping down n handing over his power to the next generation of leader? LOL I cant imagine what would happen if all 1.3 billion Chinese had ur kind of ideology n thinking! The country would be at civil war n shattered into pieces! If there is anything that Chinese should learn from the Japanese, it is "Patriotism" n "Bravery" No one will die 4 ur country except for ourselves!

Patriotism Class r common in every country! HK is part of China n shouldnt be an exception to Patriotism. I am glad to hear that u have chosen to immigrant aboard which I think is the proper decision for people with ur beliefs n political stance. 國民教育 is natural! United, China will take the world divided will be the return of colonialism! Communism or democracy has nothing to do with Patriotism! Even the Americans teach their young to die for their king and country! THINK!!

LOL again my roots are in HK n we do have Chinese News n Channels in North America! LOL... I am very up to date with current events in China n HK! There r many issues that HK has to deal with but I think the front n foremost is the economy! HK is all about money! Politics doesnt really matter thanks to 100 + years of colonialism! HKers never had control over politics! Free travel from China into HK has created many issues but that doesnt mean there is no solution! Give it time! HK never FAILS!

You must be Taiwanese! I actually respect Taiwanese a lot! Taiwan is living prove of China's democracy! Taiwan has its own military, own parliament, even its own president! Taiwanese built Taiwan themselves and China never did had any control over the Island! But thanks to the KMT n President Ma, the relationship between the straight has never been better! Taiwan is independent! Any fool can see that! But on the surface n internationally there is only one China!

I am from Hong Kong! But I grew up in North America. Growing up aboard in a foreign land has taught me to be proud of my heritage and ethnicity! If u r from HK too!! Then you should be proud of not just Hong Kong itself but being a Chinese as well! If u dont like the fact that HK has returned to CHina then plz leave HK n immigrate elsewhere! May be it will take the lessons n experiences of living aboard 4 u to appreciate n understand what being Chinese really means! Hong Kong in part of China!
