It seems like they've gone for a wider transom this time more like Te Rehutai, meanwhile the kiwis have gone for a narrow transom more like the old luna rossa boat

I get the impression this will be the toughest AC ever - everyone is bringing innovation and science, from slightly different perspectives. All sailing will benefit from this immensely.

Luna Rossa and team New Zealand was coming to mostly same conclusion for hull! Underneath and top looking similar strategic. Only thats NZ again having higher boxes on deck...? Hamish was able this time realise with luna rossa build luna rossa further.... it getting exiting what fischer in GB able to build? Alinghi was only a dark disco show.... American? It getting interesting next months.

I just can't engage with this latest AC formula. It's like a 3 legged greyhound race. Impressive, fast. But GHASTLY to watch. Plus having giant cuisinarts whipping around seems inherently fraught with disaster.

Can't they luff the mainsail when threatened with capsize and when they try to right it after capsizing? The pressure was never released from the mainsail in either case.

A quick review of the comments shows that none of the commenters understand the fluid dynamics involved here... neither does the poster. All good. Sail on, my good sailors - may you always have the seas on your quarters, sail with following seas, blah, blah. lol.

Foil breach.... then capsize.... Thanks for posting! This is a result of over-engineering by humans who are too biased by their own tech success/engineering, and refuse to observe that evolution does it better. At least they stopped putting foils on "wave piercing hull" aka displacement catamarans. Although it was a bit of fun watching those do the brick-wall-pitchpole.
