My 16” 2019 i9 16gb RAM MBP is still going along. It does well for basic tasks as mentioned but photo and video work is just too demanding and even editing in 1080p, there is sluggishness. Not enough to drastically impact, but enough to make you want an M series processor MBP. I have a lot of issues using two 4K monitors and I have to restart when ever plugging into them after using my laptop out of the dock. This has been a problem since the beginning and some users also report this issue. No fixed from Apple yet though! I want to upgrade but don’t feel the need yet as I don’t do any photo or video work anymore. Hope this helps!
worst mouse I've ever used. since I have first experience when I studied Swift in my class till the end of semester. the most thing I really hate is this magic mouse not XCode.
i also like to use it for fps games since the buttons are faster than the keyboard for weapon switching, *and the buttons are tactile mechanical so I don't have to worry about my grip engaging buttons under rapid maneuvers.
I have this and recently moved to the M1 Max and I'm happy with moving to M series. Battery life, don't get hot, have never heard the fans, Pro motion. It's just all around better.I loved my 2019 but now I love my M1 Max lol
Ordered mine this morning. It was the last thing on my desk that wasn't Apple.
I love it but it needs to be able to pair to multiple devices. Sometimes I'm on my MBA, sometimes my iPad Pro. Can only be connected to one device at a time.. feels prehistoric
Great review. Very informative
Does it work with Iphone ?
Hands down the worst mouse EVER, I couldn’t give a flying fuck about the extra swiping features it has, the ergonomics of it explains itself but the CHARGING PORT??? Why on gods earth would you ever design a mouse that can’t be used for 15 minutes because it’s “charging” and the worst part is Apple won’t tell you when your mouse is going to die, so you could be doing work and boom just like that the 15 minute timer starts now. I don’t care what the excuses are and how you “won’t have to charge it for 3 months”Your literally Apple. You can access rocket science if you had to. I’m not that much into tech but I’m pretty sure a fucking mouse is a whole lot more simpler than rocket science. Apple used to give a fuck about their products and customers, but now it’s like they’re just toying with their customer’s loyalty.
they still have that retarded bottom charging port lol
Can someone explain this to me. The magic mouse will natively use mouse acceleration on MacOS (stupidest fucking thing) so if you go to disable it, I end up with another issue. The cursor will start skipping pixels! With acceleration on, the issue goes away but the pixel skipping is ridiculous with it off. Normally this is an issue with very low dpi mouse on a high resolution screen but I don't think that's the case in this situation. Any ideas? I can't find any others mentioning this online.
The magic mouse looks like a cheap plastic toy made by Fisher Price. The mouse is to thin and very uncomfortable to use. Apple needs to redesign the magic mouse. I will not be buying the magic mouse and going with a Logitech MX Master S3.
I like this magic mouse, but it is extremely frustrating when I type a message and I just glance over the top of the magic mouse and the page I am on goes back to the previous one and me losing my entire message I just typed. It has some cool features, but dam this issues needs to be addressed from accidental guiding the top of the mouse and it registering it as me going back to a previous page! The charging doesn't really bother me at all. It freaking lasts a long time and just as long as you check it every so often and remember to charge it back up, it shouldn't be an issue!
Tks Peter,I have M1 pro 14" and a 16" i9 MBP, for use, if I didn't need at attach with bigger monitor and full power editing at home .Mostly I like to use the 16" 2019 more that the M1 pro 14"
Why? Can you describe?
@@MuhammadFirdaus-jv2ek probably has bigger ssd. thinking of replacing m1 air because of ram and ssd capacity.
I've always wondered how the battery life is compared to windows machines. My 2022 Windows Laptop (I think I paid 800€) lasts around 5 hours of decent usage (Excel, writing Mails, PowerPoint and Web browsing). How long do you think would the machine push on like half brightness with those tasks in mind? Since that machine is still faster than my Windows machine, I would like to upgrade. Especially because I already own a 2018 iPad Pro as well as an iPhone 13.
Normally it should last 8-10 hours, but heating issues and throttling can get it less, depends on the battery health
But unless you wanna run windows on it, best just pick up a m1 macbook air, that can last much longer
@@haruyanto8085 That‘s true, they re about the sams price where I live. But that 16 inch screen is just gorgeous
Thx. Good video about Macbook 2019
can i use this in desktop or only in macbook?
This works for any Mac, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, etc…
I like how Apple has done absolutely nothing to improve the design pr software over the older white one that was released back in 2015. Outside of the magic trackpad surface, literally any mouse within the same price range would be ergonomically better and more functional. -Can't charge and use -No adjustable DPI (adjusting sensitivity DOES NOT affect DPI, they are 2 separate things) -No easy multi device switching -No adjustable polling rate -Not USB C chargeable
You look like Chris from the IT crowd
I got it like, idk, 6 months ago? And can’t sure why everyone just hated it? Yes it is not good for gaming maybe, but that is it for the negative side it seems?
I usually charge it when I go showering . I also added an hand hold on the mouse and it fixed the issue for supporting my hand, works like a normal mouse !
The scroll works in Ubuntu, but the gestures would require two applications and lots of tweaking. I went back to my M570 trackball. It uses up a USB, but I seem to have enough.
Yeah ... Drink more of that Kool-aid !! - It never really feel comfortable using it. Too low profile design, perhaps ? I spent my own $$ buying a Logictech Mouse rather than using this POS they had at work. - Tactile is king !! I need buttons I can click, scrool wheel I can move. That's why gamers would choose physical contollers with actual buttons any times. I really think Humans prefer that natural force feedback feels than this gimmicky touch mouse.
I’m an Apple fan (and user), but the bottom charger is the most stupid design EVER… stop trying to justify it for the look of it… functions over aesthetics, the mouse is useless if you can’t use it while you charge it.
yeah, but you only charge it every couple of months, so it isnt really a hassle. If you had to charge it everyday than i would agree but since it only bothers you every couple of months, plus you can just charge it when you see the battery is starting to get low and then youre not using it at that moment, I dont think its really a problem.
It oesn’t change the fact that the design is completely flawed, regardless if you charge it once a month or every day… you’re making excuses for a bad design, that’s bad consumerism…
@@Spidouz depends on what youre calling design. if minimalism is the goal, then the mouse achieved your goal, but if youre going for usefullness then the mouse fails that part. But even if youre going for usefullness, it isnt something thats very bothering, and something that can be easily fixed: when you see it is only 50% or less, put it on charger after you use it, it doesnt take that much. Im not making excuses because i love everything that apple does, Im just saying that I think people put too much attention to this one detail as if it mattered. If you want the magic mouse because of the gestures and compatibility, then you shouldnt change your mind just because every once in a while you have to leave it on a charger, which like i said before is very preventable.
Fr
It rests awkwardly when being charged. That alone makes it a flawed product
Charging port . Come on ..
This is new? I’ve had one for years. Seems the same
The "touch screen" functionality of the mouse is so intuitive that I found myself scrolling and didn't even realize right away that it doesn't have a scroll wheel.
Its a good macbook but the biggest problem is the nands killing themselves due to dust or just plain no reason. I was fourtunate enough to get one for free in exchange for my time fixing it myself. But after about a couple months the nand combusted. I would have just gotten an M1 but i managed to find an MDM locked board for cheap so i applied some coating to the problem areas and im hoping this macbook lasts me for a very long time or else its going to be bye to intel macs for me.
Should i get this or the macbook air m1 8gb?
I have the Same conundrum
@@theemclane4037i got the MBA M1, no regrets
If you HAVE TO use bootcamp for windows then yes get this, if what you need to be is just basic general use then the m1 8gb would be enough, anything more youll need at least 16gb regardless of the chip
im thinking of selling my m1 because of 256gb/8gb ram issue
Who in their right mind would buy a so-called Magic Mouse. The Logitech Anywhere MX 3S beats it hands down. The Logitech can also connect to three computers whether it be Windows or Apple!
Great video , can you recommend me a place or a trusted website to buy a good condition MBP 2019 16" ??
The gestures are neat but I prat the design team got fired - the only mouse that sends actual pain when using it.
I have 4 of there and I hate it
I appreciate your review, and nothing against it- very well presented, but just no! I had the original mouse and developed severe hand cramps after 1 hour of use. Also, the bluetooth was finicky (tho I think you said it’s improved). Finally, bluetooth is just not very accurate for precise graphic work. I’ll stick with my old fashioned usb mouse until perhaps the next upgrade.
There is so much misinformation here. I dont think anyone has used this model, including the author. To say that this Macbook cant handle 4K video editing is an absolute lie. The person who said they can only get 2 hours battery is obviously Trolling.
Sorry to tell you, but it definitely chokes when editing 4k video. Even when all performance settings are optimized in premiere pro, including pre-rendering…
I've used the MM2 for about 4 months & find it a pain in the ass to use! I purchased it when I bought my Apple Studio alongside my M Keyboard. I lose soooooo much productivity using this mouse that I'm seriously thinking of ditching it. The problem isn't ergonomics, but jut the way my hand sits on the mouse. My left finger doesn't sit where the left finger should sit & if I had an ergo mouse would sit, but rather in the middle/right of the mouse. so when I (subconsciously) go to press to get a required action, I'm clicking 2 to 4 times to get what I want. It would help if Apple had a little indentation where the left/right finger should be on the mouse. So Peter, if you have any handy hints to combat the positioning of the fingers, please share.
You should get a logitech mx master 2s or up. I have one. It has all these functions but with separate buttons. It can be configured in its app, It's comfortable, has Bluetooth, battery status lights and can be charged while in use
MBP 16” 2019 i9/64Gb Ram/8Gb vga/1TB Ssd for $1.150 its great deal or overprice bro?
Yeah I’d say that’s a good deal 👍
I honestly like the Magic Mouse - mostly for it's gestures and functionality. That said, there are 3 major things that could use improvement: 1. Ergonomics. Unless your hand is flat and tiny, it's just not very good to hold for more than an hour or so. 2. The polling rate. I believe it's only 90Hz. With a 60Hz screen it's fine, but anything higher that that and it feels sluggish. 3. Use USB-C charging. With the iPhone 15 series, now all major Apple products use USB-C to charge.
what is Apple going to do put a screen on the mouse? lol.
What’s your design?
@@bhagmeister definitely change where you connect to charge the mouse. It's stupid because you can't use it while it's charging.
@@johnguillen68 So you feel that looking at the battery status is too much? That you are in a Do or Die situation whether you go to check your social media connections? That’s tough. Wow.
@@bhagmeister What are you talking about? I'm simply saying that the connection to charge the mouse is in a bad location. Don't make it sound like I need SM to survive. I could care less about SM. I work on PS and Ai for hours and then I get that low battery signal. So the location of charging the mouse is in a bad location.
@@johnguillen68 Life’s a bitch
Thinking about buying this macbook pro since it is the last 16’’macbook with bootcamp… it’s just nice to have the choice to switch between OS’s. Plus it also seems affordable around $1k or even less… basically a 2 in 1.
No more than 500$
Yeah, for the m series macbook you need a minimum of 32gb to run parallel and even used m1 pros cost way too much
I have Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard since 2008. Best money I’ve spent.

Great video bro! Keep pushing 👌
The regular 4a did not have a wide-angle lens, it was the 4a 5G that had that.
Got one as a gift from my daughter, never would have bought one by my own because of all the bad rumors….but I‘m absolutely happy with it. It can do thing no other mouse can!
Great video. How is the noise level when just browsing or watching youtube?
I just spent the morning typing something up in a Google doc with KZread playing in the background. No noise really. Didn’t get hot. Barely used any battery
Charging port location is a design mess. Other than that it’s a great tool for me and my old MacBook Pro.
Nothing magical about ot
Do think, MacOS 15 in Fall of 2024 will support this machine?
Yeah.. just based on past OS support, I’d guess this model will stay supported well into 2025
This is just a 4a not a 4a 5g
You are right
@@PetersTechCorner 4a 5g has 2 cameras and it's bigger
I bought the Magic Mouse last week and I have no regrets. I also don't spend hours and hours on my Mac using my mouse so for the couple hours a day I do use it, it has been a flawless experience.
