Al was actually a good Dad. He worked hard in a Job he dont like, just to get the Money for his Family. He could have left, like so many other Dads, but he didnt. Even if it was the worst of the worst Days, he was there for the Family. So many Dads vanish at the moment it gets difficult. Thats why Al is kinda middleclass Hero. (sorry for my english, it isnt my native language ^^)

I agree most of the sketches on mad tv were hilarious I never understood. Wow Saturday Night Live stayed on and MADtv was canceled.!! Great show I miss it!!!

Being a Brit I find American comedy to be, well… shit at best😂 with a few exceptions. The simpsons, veep (written by a Brit) Silicon Valley, family guy, curb your enthusiasm, parks/recreation, Malcom in the middle to name a select few, but married with children was possibly the very best. Absolutely loved it😂

FOX couldn't lose with Married With Children and The Simpson's. TV viewers were bored with the perfect american TV families and wanted something edgier and boy did FOX deliver. Every Sunday my brothers, their families and I would go to my parent's house for Sunday family night dinner and watch Married With Children and The Simpson's. My niece and nephew were exposed to such "wholesome" family entertainment while still in diapers, oddly enough they turned out just fine and are living productive lives, maybe TV, video games and music really do not or at least should not determine how a child will develop if they have good real life role models.

I came to the U.S as a student in 1985. I watched jerry springer, Geraldo ,and married with children religiously to learn about American way of life. By the time the show ended I became as American as an apple pie.
