  All of these improvements are trully great and complex. However I believe a very simple fix is all you needed to make her expression much more natural, by making sure the eyes look like they are in their natural resting pose. She shouldnt look awkward in a still shot, which unfortunately was already a problem before any animation. The upper eyelids are simply too high over the iris. No human being has that much white space on top of the iris, it makes her look like shes constantly holding her eyelid up, which looks unnatural. In fact this is so important, that the eyelid slides down when someone looks down and up when looking up, so preserve the ratio of white to dark in the eye. This specific coloring gives a feeling of calmness, versus the inverted one (which your character displays in most situations where it doesn make sense) is associated with agressiveness, surprise, fear etc. TLDR: change the base shapes upper eyelid to start of lower, to where it is covering half the brown of the iris, above the pupil, and then adjust the lower eyelid as needed. Then skin the eyelids so softly follow the eyes up and down motion (or create more blend shapes or other crazy rigging, you seem very capable a programmer)

  I’ve been subscribed and following this channel from the very beginning. I remember when it and other projects were popping into my recommended. All I can say is that when I say the demo the only thought was why is this all. I can’t wait to see my own and others reactions to such a beautiful project and I hope it can bring a bit more color to all who enjoy.

  Hi there, while coding my own stenography en- and decoder, I managed to create a system that would actually work with your idea of saving a whole gamestate in an image. I just tested with Discord and it worked! There was no loss of data. I'm going to test and refine it a bit more, but feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in creating something together.

  This is already looking so much better dude! As an artist who puts a lot of thought into faces and expressions tho, I think you would really benefit from doing some more work on the eyes. Rigging them so they can look up and down I think will make it a lot easier to avoid “pug eyes,” but if that’s too difficult I think just lowering the eyelids a bit sometimes will go a long way. On most people, it’s not very often that you’ll see the whites of their eyes above their pupils when their face is neutral, if that makes sense. So just lowering that lid a little bit and covering the top of the pupil like maybe 40-60% of the time in idle animations I think will go a long way.

  Absolutely breathtaking! I was giddy with excitement when I saw this announcement on TikTok and just found the channel just today. Been watching the TikTok page for probably 2 years now patiently waiting for this day. I have a border collie named Koda and he is my best friend and this just caught my heart from the first moment I saw your posts. I don’t have a PC, Switch or X box but will be putting one or the other in the budget to hopefully have it by release! So unbelievably excited to see this getting closer to completion. Congratulations on all your hard work and dedication so far. From what we have seen I think this game will be a huge hit!!!!

  I will make it easier for you. If you only want 3d for high end machines, and prefer c++ over C# and dont mind less community, resources and tutorials, pick Unreal. Otherwise pick Unity. Unity is the most versatille engine. I recommend Unity.

  i use unreal 5.3 watched tuts for it and i like it its complex but nothing to hard to learn over time.

  I'm so happy! Farewell North was the first game, I put on my Steam wishlist. Couple of years ago I saw this beautiful gif on Imgur, that immediately sparked my interest like no other game before. I followed all the links on that posting, found your Devlogs, really liked it here and now the journey comes to an end. Well, it actually comes to the beginning.
