I saw this lineup a number of times. Thanks for posting this. Brings back alot of great memories. Mclaughlin has been my favorite guitar player since my late teens and seeing him With Kai and Trilok was outstanding.

I've been picking up Vandermark 5 releases for the past 20 years. But maybe only one CD every few years. Currently listening to Burn The Incline.

In 1979 at 19 I was of the opinion that this LP (Waves) represented along with earlier Weather Report the only mature expression of fusion and certainly the only guitarist to successfully bring the Ramifications of Hendrix into Jazz. Also later after hitchhiking across America to Seattle I was studying theory with Gary Peacock at Cornish the year before he landed his famous Keith Jarrett gig and he mentioned what a genius this Trumpet player Pale Mickelborg was🤷.
