  oh my god, this is WONDERFUL!!! i loved so much about this film but was so especially drawn to the bickery, TENSE energy between these two, which i haven't seen any posts about, until finally, you have gifted us all with this MEAL!! thank you for this. i think frank wanting joey as his puppet was definitely him Being A Dick, but also just wanting to /keep/ her and knowing this was the only way to do it. so i loved that you also highlighted how his turn and his wanting to turn her were foundational to their dynamic too. <333
