    People just need to accept the fact that Elvis Presley was an amazing phenomenon in music, but also a piece of shit human being. All of his music was stolen from lesser known black artists of the time, he had a huge drug addiction, and he had a track record of being into "young girls" going as far as to groom his wife from the age of 14.

    I don't agree with the relationships Elvis may have had with teenagers at the beginning of his career, but that doesn't mean I'm going to define him by that part of his life.

    Regarding the "theft of music" claims: there was no such thing as cultural appropriation. BB King himself said that music was like water, and everyone could take from it. Elvis didn't steal music from anyone; he simply sang the music he grew up with.

    Thank You so much!! I felt and knew in my heart this was what was going on and along with his ridiculous demanding schedule !! Thank you!! I always told people he wasn’t fat … he was sick with heart and liver disease. It was so obvious. If he was fat I’d tell theM why isn’t it in his legs armed?? Most people that gain weight from eating you see it all over their body. Thank YOU dear one for this information. Hopefully it might help Others to stop the utterly ridiculous comments about him being fat the last 6 to 8 months of his life. I knew it was illness. I Had experience with this with people in my life and I’ve followed him since I was 4 years old and now I am 63. Again THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. ❤️❤❤

    I'm a new follower, you may have done one already, but could you list the books you have and which ones to read. I just started on the books. I've read elvis and me and one by Ray Connolly. But there are SO MANY. I'll probably want to read them all, even the bad ones, but which should I absolutely have in my collection?

    This is absolutely amazing and self reflective!!!! I do exactly this…. I met so many people who watch my videos at a ginger event recently and I was so thankful to meet everyone but when someone asked who I was, I totally backed down and didn’t want to share my channel…. Later on I thought about it and thought, by not backing myself I wasn’t backing the subscribers = friends!!!!!!! I thought… I gotta change this! That’s crazy that we have had such a similar experience. Although my channel is not comparable to yours… as yours is so powerful for ELVIS’ legacy. That’s fact and not at all self defeating by me. You own it love ❤️ because as a subscriber…. I think you are intensely important in the ELVIS story moving forward!!!! Great video as always and bonkers that it’s so relatable to my own recent experience. It’s got me thinking again. Thanks for that xxx

    Elvis obviously loved gospel music, but it's not true that he was ONLY happy and peaceful when performing this genre. Elvis successfully performed many different styles which also made him happy. Just watch "Reddy Teddy" from the Ed Sullivan Show and notice that Elvis is absolutely in the moment and having a ball. You can just see the joy oozing from him. It's Rock And Roll baby!

    Throughout my life, I’ve always worn my love for Elvis on my sleeve, through every decade, through every fad, never once have I denied Elvis, but recently after the Baz Elvis movie, I was in a FYE music store (remember them) and overheard this woman talking crap about Elvis, and all she knew was that he was a child molester and talking about inconsequential matters about his private life, but nothing based on his merit as an artist/ musician/actor… You can’t always articulate or express how you feel or think about something everytime your out and about, but stick up for what you believe and love. It doesn’t matter what the next person says. 😊

    You schould be proud of what you do .❤️🙏 And I agree, we schould all speak up when people ask us about Elvis . 😍 But I do understand, because when I went to school as a teenager in the 70’s , it was really uncool to love Elvis 👎 But I did’nt know that , until they started teasing me about it . I wasn’t in the incrowd, and this definitly made me an outsider . But proud to be !❤️I wore my badges and t-shirts and had his picture on my jeansjacket and keyrings and so on … But they hated me for it. And laughed. And it has always been that way ,and it hurts. And in my case, I don’t get much conversation about it these days,because I don’t wear anything or carry anything With me ,that would suggest that I am an Elvis fan . Thought about it just now ,when you talked about your backpack . I haven’t had that for most of my adult life … sounds fun ,maybe I schould get me a bag or t-shirt 😍😍😍

    Wow, I can relate to this so much!! Not concerning Elvis, but just being a fan of celebrities in general. They mean so much to me; I have grown so much as a person through loving these people and they're such a firm part of my life...yet, when faced with talking about that part of me in person, I freeze. I've experienced so much backlash in the past for my interests that, like you, I already decide nobody cares and I just minimize its importance. It's easy to be bold online, but in person...not so much. Thanks for this encouragement! I've long sought for validation from the people around me, but it took me way too long to realize I don't have to have that. I know God cares about me, my interests, and how He's brought it all together in a story I hope to share someday. Thanks for this video, Mary!

    Hi Mary ♥ I totally understand where you are coming from. When I was at school, I was the most uncool person in my class because I loved Elvis ♥ Now if someone asks me about Elvis ❤ because of my bag or a t-shirt I'm wearing, I answer with yes I love him and leave it at that. If they say me too, I cant stop talking to them😂 😂 😂 . I love to meet young fans, I feel so proud. You explained the encounter with the gentleman perfectly. I'm so pleased you had that great experience. Thank you Mary ♥ as usual xxx 💝

    Great advice girl. Be you. Stand up for what you believe and, yes, "who cares?" I learned that lesson a long time ago. And in this case, we should actually be proud of Elvis. I have found out from KZread and personal experience that when people find out the truth and give his catalog a chance, they become big fans. And if they refuse to listen, that's fine too.

    There is mockery most of the time when we say we love Elvis. so having experienced it I don't post it, because what bothers me is that the mockery towards me (I don't care) but through this mockery it is Elvis who is being mocked and that, that hurts me. so I remain on the defensive. I hope this intelligent gentleman is watching you.

    Amen, Mary. You’ve articulated an experience many Elvis fans encounter. Our go to low key simplistic responses to those presenting us with the, “Oh, you like Elvis?” Is because we figure they have only the pop culture knowledge of Elvis, along with the ridiculous jokes surrounding it. We have to get confirmation that they are truly curious.

  • @elvis78ale
    @elvis78aleАй бұрын

    It's a very common situation that we all, Elvis' fans, occasionally live. Unfortunately we are so used to being made fun of or looked at strangely that we are prejudiced when someone delves into the topic in depth. And so even in front of genuinely interested people, we end up being distant and with the desire to end the conversation immediately for fear of yet another stupid person who makes stupid comments. Maybe for you, who are even younger, it is even more difficult. Personally, I ignore idiots and continue to be proud to love Elvis because he and his music have been a true gift to my soul. ❤
