Gearknob is the culmination of 5 years' worth of tireless work from AlexTGRF to document Top Gear, a series which is perhaps one of the most popular but least adequately-documented series of all time.
I have now produced several acclaimed documentaries worth tens of millions of views with the blessings of esteemed individuals such as Tavarish among others, and aim to make a lot more alongside my sister channel Gearknob Productions.
I unofficially "retired" from Discord in mid-2022 against my own wishes and promises as stresses and certain priorities grew, but I still find it worthwhile to promote the community I founded: discord.gg/KE8aPSV

Great idea by the BBC Let's take a failed minor race driver, an egotistical northern "comedian" and a great cricketer and revamp top gear and watch it go tits up
Stupidity at it's finest people!
ok you lost me when you said you don't believe in global warming lol 1:04:10 it's not been dismissed in any scientific circles except maybe creationists and flat earthers which are as far removed from scientific circles as anyone can get
i honestly didn't even know Top Gear was still going after the Clarkson era, not like i would've checked it out anyways lol
They tried to replace one of the most iconic TV trios ever, of course it would fail.
Freddie was sooooo shit
He is a legitimately nice guy, you would love to meet him
TG without hamster, captain slow and the orange Utahn was DOA!
This video is not how I expected to find out Sabine Schmitz died. RIP
On tonight’s documentary Hammond crashes a drag car Hammond leaves the BBC for Clarkson And Hammond crashes an electric supercar
bbc literally said: IT'S LIKE MR. FROG, BUT WITHOUT ALL OF THE TOXIC CRAP!
Top gear still exists?
Pretty easy.....i dont even Like Cars.....but i Loved top Gear. It was the Humor, the hilarious Presentations and the 3 Hosts.
How ironic that BBC removed them to save reputation. And today as a whole BBC has such a very great reputation known worldwide.
hei, just found your channel. Will you discuss the cast's spin off shows?
I'm impressed by Mindy, not many women like her.
I miss Sabine, she was funny in her German way and fast.
Very well done, you obviously put in the proper effort into this.
George best, best known for his role in the 1966 world cup squad
I would love to hear what you have to say on this but holey schnikeys your mic needs some love brother. I cant even passively watch it. It looks like you fixed it in recent videos so fair play but maybe a remaster of this one? Clearly the algorithm liked it
Used to watch top gear with my dad growing up even tho I didn't and still don't really like cars, remember alot of these "moments" you reference when they first aired. Its insane to me that the BBC didn't understand what made Top Gear , Top Gear. Even The Grand Tour's first season didn't get it either. Both shows just needed to have an "intro" episode where we just are with the presenters in the pub, being apart of the joke/fun/group. Thats the magic. It cudve been about football , or food, and it wudve still done just as well!
We need Hammond from DriveTribe to react to this!
Amazing documentary. Hamster Hammond is really just one of the men ever.
Even if I really love Top Gear and Jeremy and James (well, the three of them as a team), Richard will always be my man. He’s teeny tiny. He’s cute. He’s charismatic. His voice is super relaxing. He’s great.
The only reason Hammond isn't my favourite is because none of them are, as all of them are. It's an unbreakable trinity.
1:26:24 my man knows not to walk through Orchard park after 10pm
whats the music of chapter 6?
hammond is the person we should all strive to be, and is undisputedly a great person!
Its like right now make new MJ songs and organize conserts. But its even worse because at least TopGear's MJ is not dead.
Man...this was... inspiring, to say the least. Damn.
My first introduction to Hammond was through Total Wipeout and then Engineering Connections then stumbled upon him on Top Gear which was being watched by my older brother and me asking him "oh isn't he that wipeout guy?" which started a whole chain reaction resulted in me starting to watching Top Gear along with my brother and my brother teaching me how to drive In his Evo which he never let anyone drive and me developing interest on cars, I have got lot of memories with my older sibling which I would never have got due to our age gap and since I was more closer to my older sister, I have genuinely gained a lot due to the strange coincidence's.
He lived in Shirley and Solihull is a town not a city. Just saying.
Lose the music please !
37:12 the MythBusters also tackled this fable, and made the same realisation. Top job to Richard Hammond and Adam Savage for risking their lives for science
Icebergs don't make sealevels rise, they do the opposite in fact!
Good stuff!
Can you do a James may one
These videos are really fucking good man. I love that perspective of someone who's been in the forums and been such a hardcore fan for such a long time telling the story of someone so important and integral to Top Gear. I'm currently working on a Robot Wars retrospective so I appreciate it the robot wars mention too hahahaha! These videos are extremely important and your POV within the fandom is probably the best place to be telling such a story. Can't wait to see more dude.
Nice job! Are you going to do something similar about Captain Slow ?
I have to know, what is the track playing at 50:30?
It's easy ! Go woke, go broke !
I genuinely thought the BBC had appointed Chris Evans as a sacrificial Lamb. I figured they planned to have everyone focus their hate on him, fire him, and then give the show to Chris Harris like he deserved. At the time Harris’ web series had gained a cult following because he had the same passion for automobiles that Clarkson did, but Harris was a vastly better driver. The top gear reboot never captured the true passion of the trio. Anyone who has seen clarkson talking about the 928 Porsche, or the grand tour bit about the Ford Cortina’s sees instantly true passion.
That was a great watch! Cheers!
Great job 👍
I'm a yank who's never watched Top Gear in any incarnation, barely knows who Jeremy Clarkson is, and doesn't really care about cars much in general aside from the bare minimum I need to know for basic maintenance. And you got me to care about all those things. Good on you. :)
Blue Peter suffered the same fate after John Noakes etc
I will always find it funny as an American. The amount of INSANE control and tactics the BBC does when over here in the states NBC or CBS barely even matter much.
The fact this is all happening under a program that is publicly funded should be way more concerning that people make it out to be.
Top gear has fallen, gazillions must drive electric cars
The Diddly Squat Farm Shop had more visitors then the Top Gear drive in, during the same corona times.
