Truly great presentation and I (as a newbie) was able to understand everything you said (NOT even close to common on KZread films), great pedagogical talent!!! I have a questions regarding your statement about that beginner telescopes might not be able to reach focus due to the design. I am planning to get a Sky-Watcher Explorer 200 PDS to be used with a Canon EOS 70D and an HEQ5 Pro mount. Will I be able to get focus on that setup? Many thanks in advance!

Your video explained some parts I for sure needed i thank you. I have a celestron 800 cpc scope . I got a power station 400 v. So I got A dC cable for celestron rated, it's a T UV- 12-2 input DC 11-24 output 12. Positive tip. Also AC/DC adapter model CT 1250 input 100-240 v 0. 8A max 50 60 hz output 12v 2500ma The AC adapter also for my celestron but the AC one came with a smaller diameter plug the the DC on did. Do these figures all ok? Match is what I need? Do I just get and adapter for the smaller plug and is it ok to use the AC adapter plugged on to my power station. I use use either or the plugs that I have here? Is one better than to other?
That’s great Chris, good useful information there. Thank you.

Can i connect dslr t ring (thin one) to mirrorless camera??.. because the focal plane of my telescope is very close to the end of focuser so it wont het focused if there's much gap between the sensor and focuser end
@firstlightoptics19032 жыл бұрын
Hi Arty, it's needs to be a T-ring made for your specific camera. Most Mirrorless camera T-rings are the long type but it's worth searching for low profile T-rings for your specific camera incase somewhere sells these.

@@firstlightoptics1903 i just want to know if the T ring that fits Canon Eos EF mount also fits Canon RF mount as both are equal in diameter
@crateer Жыл бұрын
@@ArtyDc600 no, there are t-rings for different brands not just because of different lengths for the backfocus, but Most importantly, they are different adapters. You cannot put a canon adapter to a sony-e mount It's like trying to screw a 5mm nut on to a 10mm bolt haha You need the t-ring adapters that are specifically made for your camera brand

@firstlightoptics19032 жыл бұрын
Hi Andagape, telescopes that are more visual orientated tend to have the focal place optimised for eyepieces and not cameras with the sensor set back into a camera body. The only way to resolve this is to install a lower profile focuser or move the primary mirror further up the tube.

@firstlightoptics19032 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks Lee! Yes it's good to point this out :) it's a common misconception that you absolutely need the PDS version but the black diamond livery Sky-Watcher 150p, 200p etc will also reach prime focus with cameras. The older Blue tube version doesn't though surprisingly! The PDS just has nice imaging extras such as the dual speed focuser, larger secondary to reduce vignetting and a slightly shorter tube so it more conveniently reaches focus with cameras.

Hello, Chris here from First Light Optics. As well as the above steps you may need to twist the thread on the front of an optical finderscope to focus it for your eyes. You can then lock it in place with the knurled locking ring.

I have this telescope and it's a good scope but I would say its not very comfortable to use, the red dot finder is in a hard place to c what it's pointing at and the eyepiece is on top wich means u can't sit at the table while ur looking through it so u have to stoop over, the mount is grate and probably the better one to get for sitting at the table would be the mak, or maybe get some rings on the tube so u can rotate it slightly wichis what I'm going to try, I personally think its a bit of a bad design, I also have the mead lightbridge 82mm and that is much better to use as a table top scope but Optically can't come close I have 4 first telescopes and not one of them is perfect 🤷♂️
