    Dude this is great I have several ceaspiatosa plants that have 15 or more buttons so I can easily do this and increase my peyote plant stock is there a way to de-graft later to a shallower stock when ot gets huge?

    Got another q? For ya if u don't mind.. How close do u keep ur lights when their a month or so old? I'm starting to see the areolas popping up and I feel like maybe I should put my light closer. I probably have it 14-16in away now.

    @@gbeagle417 It really depends on your specific light. As they get older you can move them closer and closer. Just keep an eye on them and make sure they don't start burning, turning red. If they do they need to be moved away from the light.

    @@gbeagle417 Just move it a couple of inches closer every few weeks or so. Probably be alright getting it to around 6 inches away.

    @@KenzenVaz Peyote, when cultivated indoors under proper conditions, will usually mature and flower at around the 2 to 3 year mark. It takes significantly longer in the wild, taking 8 to 10 years or more.

    So good information. Just a question, is it posible to grow lophophora or maybe ariocarpus on those ligths? I mean, no sun at all, just the spiderfarmers. In a growtent maybe? Thanks

    @@jacobgarcia3597 Yes, Lophophora grow very well exclusively under grow lights. Grow tents are great because they keep the temperature up, which cacti like. 🙂

    Finding coarse sand that i'm sure is not just regular sand (too fine) has been a challenge. Even at nurseries i see them selling play sand

    You showed the boiling water method before. Is the oven better, or just another process that you want to teach? The boiling water method seems easier with less equipment, and my only worry is the tub will melt.

    The pasteurization method is a little more complicated, but it will fight much better against contamination.

    I've never used neem oil. If pasteurized correctly, nothing else will be needed.

    What percentage u putting those spiders on? That's the same light I have and was gonna use my tent to grow my adolescent? I was told its eight yrs old.. Do I still want my light far away.

    I don't use the dimmer on mine. Yes, even mature plants are sensitive to too much light. I would keep it two to three feet away.

    ​@@SacredButtonsyeah I have them about 32in away..got scared of full power so I started em on 80. They spent the last week in the leafy shade of my pot plants. I will be checking on em every 4hrs.. It's gonna be rainy here so I want to supplement the light.

    @@SacredButtons after the first day on 80% they almost seemed to be "perking up" sorry I grow a lot of reg plants so that's the description I came up with haha..no discoloration and they seemed to like it.. Thanks for the reply.. I might came back to this video if I have any other q?s I guess I do have one more. For seeds when can I start giving em more light then just a window? Their about month old right now.

    When germinating, I use spring water. At every other stage of life I use tap water. I've used tap water in three different cities with no problems. Of course, every city is different.

    @@SacredButtons I also wanted to ask Do you have any recommendations? since I could not find 2-7-7 ( I don't know what this means) Organic liquid fertilizer. I found Shultz but not organic and other brands have organic but not 2-7-7.

    I would stick to a clay pot. No they do not have to be separated as long as they have room to grow

    Question: What if you have buttons but they haven't started regrowing their roots yet? Would you still put them on top of a layer of sand, or would you put it directly on the potting mix in this case until the roots start to come in? (Also, any tips for getting cut buttons to sprout roots?) Thank you!

    How about planting 3 or 4 on the same pot? Also when watering the sand start to sink untill it finally comes through? Thats what has happened when growing from seeds and soil has sand in it. I used 25-35% sand in my mix.
