So how many have realized that this is a TOTAL rip off of George Michael’s Cowboys and Angels?!? I always thought this sounded like his when I saw the movie. Didn’t really think anything about it after all these years until I searched for HIS credit only to find out that someone totally ripped him off. Give credit where credit is due! Even thou this is one of my favorite movies of all time, just had to point out this discrepancy.

I’m trying to figure out who wrote this first! It appears that George Michael’s bassist Deon Estus arranged the baseline for the song in the 1990 lp Listen Without Prejudice. The (Great & Classic) movie Boomerang came out in 1992, and Marcus Miller put a version of this on his 2001 lp entitled M2 under the song “Boomerang” (track 3) and “Boomerang (Reprise)” (last track - 15). I just can’t imagine either of these bassist lifting the groove from one another…I mean, the percussion licks are the same!!! So which came first? The chicken…or the egg!?! Thank you for making our Year(s) by posting this!
