Kaleidescape is a joke. For those who have 100K+ HT, sure, why not throw more money. For regular folks - just rip your Blyrays, buy a 20TB HDD and watch on a decent media player like Dune, Zappiti or a Zidoo or R_volution.

From what I understand, a Cinemascope shows video content on the left and right side that the 16 x 9 does not it’s not a huge amount but there is images that you will not see on a 16 x 9 if you’re watching a movie that is in scope so I think that’s the reason why people choose in a scope is cause if the image is there, they want to be able to see it

  • @TheaterAdvice_FCAV

There is 100% not more on the sides of a 2:35 picture...it's just hte middle of aa 16x9..with either screen shape you see the same picture amount. Nothing is cut off. Now if you get a 2.35 screen and try to watch things or use a madVR etc..it cust the picture to fit. Then you are losing.

There may be extra content when it's actually filmed but the version you watch at home is going to be the same on a 169 or 2.35 screen...there isn't a native 2.35 chip or two versions of a recording you get at home. So it's the same...you don't magically see more on the sides if you have a different shape screen....It's a fact.

The one thing I will disagree with is that these speakers don't do justice to Metallica. They obviously sound different than conventional designs, but if you feed it some decent metal recordings they can sound great. I do agree that you won't get the impact or the sheer volume that some other speakers can give you, but personally I think the trade off is well worth it.

Good video. For the uninitiated; Pulling the speakers away from the wall will allow for lower xover in terms of sound. It won't make your drivers more capable but it will lessen the boomy/muddy bass from the speaker so it all integrates better. I use the WASP method where you stand on the speaker wall and talk and slowly walk away from the wall, and the point where your voice sounds normal and not boomy is where I put my speakers.

Couple more points to add. I agree only buy the blockbusters and enjoy the highest quality. I do the same. Two more points I would add. #1 Purchase movies you liked growing up watching that were blockbusters. These movies have been released on 4K Blu-Ray and then K-Scape gets a copy as well. So instead of purchasing the blu-ray, which I still do, you can also pick it up on the K-Scape, or only pick it up on the K-scape. #2. Movies in theaters that are available early on K-Scape for $39.99 may be worth it, instead of taking the family to the theater and spending $200, buy it for your home theater on the K-Scape. They do however, need to bring the price down for the masses. And most people forget that K-Scape shut down once.
