What’s whipped about this? I never heard this term before so I’m actually wondering and not being sarcastic. 😅
@@JuaniqueVerde not sure, honestly. English is not my first language, so I just use the terms from the books 🙂
Oh, that's great. My first name is Joy so I coukd easily (sorta') come up with a J and an O to spell out my name with one full half-chevron at the end. TFS!
Very nice 🤎🤎
@@handembroiderybysam thank you!
Thank you for this video ❤❤❤
When I try doing pistil stitch it doesnt look that clean 🥹 its like when I do french knot 😭 it looks like its coming loose 😭😭😭 how do you all make clean french knots and pistils 🥹
It's all about tension-keep the winded thread in tension until the last moment so the knot is nice and compact. For more tips on French knots, watch this video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/f52elMGIfNPZmrA.html or download my free e-book - pages.practicalembroidery.eu/5-essential-stitches
@@practicalembroidery thank you for sharing these 😊❤️
Where is it used?
Mostly in botanical embroidery, bu also for decorative borders and edges of the garments. You can add French knots or Lazy Daisies to create floral motives.
@@practicalembroidery thanks
That stitch looks like some of the gold chains one sees about. It's fascinating to look at. TFS!
@@rachellee.9389 thank you!
Great videos…❤Thankyou
Thank you!
which thread is this?
It's a pearl cotton (no 8)
Superb 👌💜💜
@@handembroiderybysam thank you!

Just curious, would modge podge work for this?
I think it should work. Maybe the drying time is a bit longer.
Oh, now that one is fascinating and I'm needing to study it a bit. I love the variations. TFS!
@@rachellee.9389 thank you! Yes, variations is the best part of this stitch!
Holy cats, I've been embroidering for about 55 years and I have never seen this stitch! Geez, I feel like I've lived under a rock to have never seen this simple but beautiful stitch. I'm itching to try it. TFS!
@@rachellee.9389 definitely try it! It's more simple than it seems and really looks gorgeous
Good idea
Thank you!
Awesome 👍❤❤
Thank you so much!
@@practicalembroidery welcome 💐💝
Lots of parts to a stitch that looks simple but is sort of intricate. Fascinating stitch!
@@rachellee.9389 thank you!not that complicated when you get the movement 💪
Good..
What is this style used for?
@@faizahfakhruddin7068 Mostly for the borders and to decorate the clothes - hems and collar. It's a traditional stitch from the Basque country that was used for decoration of clothes and home textiles.
Each time you start out I think it's just a variation of a stitch you've already done but you surprise me every time! It may be a 'variation' in the broadest sense still, the finished product looks completely different. Brava, my dear.
@@rachellee.9389 thank you! It really is a variation of the fly stitch, but has a totally different look!
Thsnks excellent vidio. Very clear.easy to under stand
@@varalakshmidevi8366 thank you! I'm glad this helps.
I finally figured it out! Thank you:)
@@danielletoriz4639 you are so welcome!
Very clear and helpful video. Also like the up tempo speed (compared to some other tutorials).
@@alyhuis1637 thank you. Happy to hear that!
What kind thread you are using
@@Jeyalakshmi-bo9fh it's a pearl cotton thread #8 by DMC
All this time I have trying to think of a word for your vids. Then I found myself with my hand under my chin, holding up my head, watching this video, and it came to me: MESMERIZING! With the wonderful music in the background, my rapt attention, and your oh-so-precise stitching, the word seems to fit to a T. Thank you so much!
@@rachellee.9389 thank you for your kind words!
Simple yet intriguing stitch. So tidy, too.
Thank you!
What kind of thread is to be used
@@Jeyalakshmi-bo9fh you can embroider with any kind of thread. The transfer marks will wash out easily after the embroidery is done.
Have you been reading my mind? I just found my book on vintage embroidery patterns (like used to be done on dish and the like), and I was wondering if regular carbon paper would work.
Perfect timing 😂
thank you for sharing!
@@lisazepponi88 I'm glad you find it useful! Thank you for watching!
Very nice sharing 👍❤
Thank you so much!

Amazing 😍❤
Thank you!
Having that frame really helps the satin stitch to pop, doesn't it?
@@rachellee.9389 yes, really worth extra time to make it 👍
I had to turn this video off. The music is shocking and way to loud. So put me off completely.
@@tracybrewer3377 sorry to hear that. I do not speak in my videos, so simply mute it.
Beautiful 🌷
Thank you!
OMG, it really DOES look like a tulip! With some stitches I wonder how they got their names, but not this one. It's deceptively easy, too. TFS!
Yes, this one is really straightforward and gorgeous:)
Wow. that's like a French knot from another universe. I love the effect. TFS!
Yes, it looks complex, but when you get the movement, it's really fun to embroider. And it looks gorgeous 😍
What material are you sewing the pattern onto? Very cool idea. Oh, never mind. I saw what it was when you attatched the fabric to the card. 🎉
This is the video that made me really understand the long and short stitch
Thank you!
So nice ❤
It looks so neat. I'm doing pro-Palestinian counted cross stitch bookmarks now in red, black, white, and green and this stitch reminds me of that. TFS!
That is a fascinating stitch. Does it always need to go from left to right, or can one do the rows back and forth (left to right, then right to left)? It's beautiful and nothing less than I expect from you, my dear.
Thank you! The stitches always go to one side. Otherwise, the loops turn to opposite sides, which disrupts the weaving pattern.
It almost looks like fish scales. Very beautiful!
Thank you!
Thanks .Can't wait to try this 😍
I'm sure you will have a lot of fun embroidering it!
Thank you!! The answer to my frameless - pieces prayers!! 🎉❤🎉
I'm glad this helped!
Спасибо, надо попробовать сделать🙏👏
Hey I want to remove embroidery pattern 😢 ND I don't know what they used for that 😩 what should I do now
Hey, if it does not go out by washing or with heat, probably it's permanent. Unfortunately, you can not remove that.
Thank you! 🪡 🧵 ✂️
Very nice ❤❤
Thanks 🤗
Great videos! Thanks so much!
Thank you for watching!
That stitch makes me think of Ancient Egypt. Maybe it reminds me of some the the engravings? Anyway, it's beautiful! TFS!
Thank you! Yes, this stitch reminds of something antique :)
