I had a problem with the left thumb releasing on time, so i had to fish the reel down with releasing the spool with my right thumb... I tried those thumb things etc but my thumb doesn't have the proper timing I can't get the distance i think im capable of.... Obviously I'm doing something wrong I enjoy your videos

Definitely without level winders! Jist to learn the art of winding line on smoothly left to right by hand. If its eratic or lumpy this can cause crackoffs next cast

Not sure. Guessing mid/ late 90s early 2000s this rod. Never had an HSM but a friend had one tbey slightly slimmer than Bullet next size down.

Prob similar but defo the .45mm mainline would have lost a fair bit on a fixed spool but thats what braid good for if youre into that type of thing ;)

Always good to see you out and about. The overhead thump is always my go to cast when im actually fishing. Similar distances to you, can't say the same with the pendulum, muscle memory takes over 🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂
