I lived at this apartments at the time but oddly enough I was out of town, so when my sister heard of the fire she frantically called and asked if we were okay, not knowing if it was our building that was affected. Luckily it wasn't, but still sad for those tenants that were.

Interesting video. My parents use to live in Seguin, but moved to San Antonio to be closer to my father's new employer (Alamo Iron Works) in 1956. Prior to that, he was a mechanic at Ewald Tractor. I like to say that, were it not for the drought of the 1950's, me and my brother might have grown up in Seguin. My parents were visiting her parents in November of 1957 when she went into labor and I was born in the Guadalupe Valley Hospital, so although I grew up in San Antonio, I have a tie to Seguin too!

This is generally a good video. I just think it's funny that there is no mention of an institution that brings in millions of dollars every year to the Seguin economy. I of course am talking about Texas Lutheran University. I've said before and I'll say it again, until both TLU and Seguin embrace each other as partners both will fail to flourish fully.

This is what a fucking boils down to the owner should be shot mad for being a bad dog owner and not listening to the cops the owner of the dog did not leave the premises when cold it was obviously up to something that is not supposed to be up to the cost suspicion the owner being drunk in public obviously let the dog go a pitbull mix the owner probably told the dog to attack the officer I cannot blame the officer for defending is life fortunately the dog did live but if you were me I would a shot the owner 5 * just for being a bad dog owner

Someone on another site said the officer was "chasing after the guy, and any dog would consider that aggressive"...that officer was walking slowly towards the guy at the time. Any dog that considers that aggressive is a problem. People are allowed to walk up to you in public, for goodness sake. Even police officers (I mean this as a joke...for those who think the policeman was "harassing" the guy). Talking to someone and even annoying them does not mean you can physically strike them (including with your protective dog). This officer did nothing wrong. Probably saved himself from a very sore arm at least and maybe much worse. And if that dog gets to hang out in public again, it should be muzzled. Dogs shouldn't be overly protective to the point that someone arguing with their owner or walking after them repeatedly gets attacked. The officer didn't charge or strike the guy, which would really be the only time a dog should really be "justified" in protecting it's owner.
@ringonordstrom69210 жыл бұрын
If the owner cared about his dog, he would be attending to it. You can see this type of scenario (cop shoots pit; criminal-owner goes off on cop to deflect his own criminal behavior and scofflaw disposition) all over KZread. The dog is nothing but a weapon to the criminal. The news articles inform us taxpayers will pick up the hefty vet bill, the incarceration bill, the dog hotel bill, and the owner can reclaim his dog when he gets out. America is a joke of a country.
@tommyc575010 жыл бұрын
Don't see a problem here. The dog was let loose by the owner. That's two aggressive attackers he then had to potentially worry about. This wasn't like other case where the police shoots a dog after going into its yard at the wrong address.

i personally witnessed the entire incident. we are in the first vehicle at the top of the screen right before the shooting. the man was inside the store buying whatever. his dog was chained to the bench and barking . as the cop was trying to get the man to leave,the guy untied his dog and for some reason let go of the leash. the dog went after the cop. the cop did what he had to to protect himself.........stop leaving your negative comments. you weren't there. the video clearly shows the dog being aggressive.

Here is a link to the press release detailing the incident. www.seguintexas.gov/news/article/officer_avoids_injury_by_shooting_aggressive_dog/ Also, here is an update on the dog's future: "Typically in a situation when an animal is seized after the owner's arrest, the animal is held at Seguin Animal Services until the owner is released from jail. When released, the owner has the opportunity to reclaim the animal. If the owner chooses not to reclaim, the matter is handled on a case by case basis. In this case, the animal has not shown aggression since being housed at Seguin Animal Services. If the dog is not reclaimed by the owner, it will likely be put up for adoption."

this just didn't add up...if the dog was so aggressive in the beginning why was it so calm and non aggressive as to come back after being shot and lay down next to it's owner after being shot...and we still have not seen proof that the dog is alive
