Can you set the gap to where both rollers are actually just touching each other? Im wanting to buy one for crushing hemp stalks to crush the inner core of the stalk to make removal of the fiber easier. I have successfully done this with a lesser grain crusher mill but that mill can’t tighten to where both rollers are actually touching. Just wondering on the adjustments.

I would think yes. (if you don´t squeeze it too tight, so they still can freely rotate)

@@jpjay1584 I have done some research since I had asked my question. The answer is yes and no. Not all will adjust to zero. Some are designed to not adjust that far. I opted to buy a super reliable and very robust Sugar Cane Crusher that will adjust to zero lash and beyond. It is spring pressure adjusted but the springs are strong enough to do what I need without damage to the fiber from the stalks Im trying to release . My cane crusher is also setup so I can connect a small motor so I don't have to spin it by hand. It is a much better option and works perfectly. Good for flax, hemp and milkweed. And for the occasional desire to have sugar cane juice.

OK I just bought one of these guys. One of the adjustment knobs won't move with hand pressure. how do I free it?

The downside of this, to install the hopper, you have to remove the thumbscrews, put on the hopper, then put the thumbscrews back in through the holes of the hopper mount to the mill grinder blocks. It is a possible disturbance of the gap setting. Just make your adjustment marks very fine line marks.

Yup...terrible design. And you have to take the hopper off to adjust the gap...so annoying. If you mark your spot with a marker you should be ok. So far I haven't been too excited about my MM3. Something seems to be wrong and my efficiency has dropped so I emailed their support. I think the gap keeps getting messed up as the thumbscrews don't seem to tighten enough. Also no matter how much I try, I can't get that roller to free spin like the video after tightening everything up. I thought I'd get a positive efficiency/consistency bump with this, but I was more consistent milling my grains at my LHBS.

For those of us not in liberia, Myanmar and the United States of imperialism - that's a 1 mm gap.

Glad you made this. The company does not send anything with the product and does not respond to emails or requests for info. I love the mill, hate the company.

Feelings not quite as strong as yours but have the 2 roller mill and wish I had the 3 version off the hop. The click adjustments are supposed to be much better.

If I would have realized you only set the gap on two rollers I would have bought the two roller.

be nice if the video showed the adjustment using the current locking and adjustment devices.

Peter, This is the current adjustment mechanism on our MM-3 mill, as well as the MM-2 mill. The larger Pro series mills have a different knob design (used to be called MM3-2.0 and MM2-2.0). The only difference in the procedure is how you lock the knob down with the thumbscrew vs the bolt going through the face of the frame on the larger mills.

Guess I have the other design as I have no thumbscrews. Just some kind of lock screw on the ring things on each side
