    The thing I love the most about my garden is the cherry tree. It started ripening in the first half of May. I just sneak out and start grazing delicious, homegrown, crunchy cherries. I'm almost out of the stuff though, as I gave a lot of my precious things to friends and family. My neighbor has 2 giant, and I mean GIANT cherry trees, and my bedroom window is looking straight at them. I'm howling at the trees during full moon. I totally recommend it, if you don't have one. You can go to a tree school and buy and plant one that will yield you fruits in a year or two. I think you need to plant them either early spring or at the start of autumn. I plan to plant some apricot in 3 months and I think another cherry tree that ripens a bit later in the summer, so I will have a steady supply of the substance all through summer.

    yes we have a cherry tree, also planted silva , apricot, peach. also we have 2 pear trees, my favourite is growing the veg garden and have fresh salad every day if I need, what I don't use goes to the chickens and geese, so there getting good diet too, which shows in there eggs and meat, great life. the best of all is not having to go to work.

    @@ourlifeafter50 Yes, I remember reading something about how "factory chicken" lack some nutrients in their eggs, if they do not receive "real food". I gotta admit though, the idea of eating salad freaks me out. I am just back from my garden, we have a few square meters of salad, but I just yeeted a fat slug off it. I keep telling my wife not to put salad in my food. I guess I lack the French genes for that kind of stuff. I'm more of a radish guy myself. Peas are also fantastic.

  • @ourlifeafter50
    @ourlifeafter50Ай бұрын

    hi thanks for the question. it is automatic humidity, so it best to have the bottle and tube, as the times I have used the incubator, it has been accurate, just set the humidity % to the desired level. otherwise spend less money to by the non automatic pump, but you will spend more time checking the humidity and water level

  • @ourlifeafter50
    @ourlifeafter507 ай бұрын

    hi, well it could be many things, lets start at the basics, try them first. if you already tried I apologise . has it been used regularly? or has this just happened ? make sure the battery is charged and put in the correct way. or replace it for a new one. make sure that the memory card slot door is closed properly, clean all contacts. make sure the lens is connected properly, clean all contacts with electrical contact fluid. do you have a green light on top of the camera as shown in my tutorial ? if so you should have the back screen light up showing settings. If none of these work then get it checked by a tech person at your local camera store. any more than this is probably not economically viable as the camera is quite old , assuming it is the 440d.

    hi guys - interesting to see your place and also glad to knnow I am not to only one suffering with mice!!! They have the ability to jump quite a distance and get in anywhere - they also create extensive tunnels. Ours have come into the veg patch since the fields have been harvested and some are in the house (roof). I did make sure the trees were not touching our house but they still get in. It seems a lot of people here in Hungary have bigger presence of them than the UK. I know when mice season starts, as the local farm shop starts selling traps and bait. Part of it I guess

  • @ourlifeafter50
    @ourlifeafter508 ай бұрын

    Hi Simon, man I cant tell you how frustrating this is being, I have spent days sealing up the roof where places I think they can enter. I have used fine strong mesh, metal fly screen, silicone, 6 traps in the attic, slowly but surely we getting there. I just found on Monday 2 more possible entrances, the only place I haven't managed to do is the top half of the roof edge trims as I cant reach safely, saying that it is a very steep pitch so maybe they cant get up there, I will do that job in spring.I can try from inside the roof space with expanding foam, but looking, it may prove difficult. We also have in the veggie patches, voles, mice and moles. if you didn't know it's illegal to kill moles in this country, strange law ! maybe if you kill the moles rodents take over the tunnels, I cant think of any other reason. I have seen the odd rat too, sorted one, but they don't seem to come often, I use a trail cam to monitor it. we both live in big surrounding farming land, (I have a woodland next to my garden where I do my wildlife channel photography) also raise chicken and geese, so there is no getting away from it, just plant more, control them as best we can and accept the losses. We desperately need it to freeze and snow as that does kill a lot off. Onwards and upwards.
