There reall y should have never been any such thing as right to buy,as it has partially led to this situation, but developers and speculators sheer greed are the real villains.

Excuse me young man but these people lived and loved their home. They had to leave because of the new estate being built. You've bought your home you've got money they did not get enough to buy a better home .🤬🤬🤬

38.00 is the telltale face of a man who sold land worth £12,000,000 to a developer for £3 9 years since filming this situation is reflected in every council around the world. I'm now 11 months in the new white box on an estate I was moved to after my landlord informed me she was selling the house I'd rented for 15 years. She didn't sell. Just quadrupled the rent. This is an important documentary to witness how the lives of real people are turned upside down by the actions of those in local government.

Well it went from one site in Grosvenor terrace Se5 to multiple sites across London & the UK and ventured out into training colleges, adults hubs, therapy sites, play centres, holidays clubs… The way they made it seem as if it was one building… How much did the police spend doing nothing last week alone???

Imagine the twisted mind that always had a Plan B in reserve to ensure that Kid's Company closed. That mind was gutted when Camilla and the dedicated staff saved Kid's Company. Within 24 hours that Plan B swung into action. Involving allegations of all manner of abuse from people paid to say so. All of it make believe. All of it not true. All of it. Notice of the closing of police investigations n e v e r match the size of the banner headlines announcing the opening. The annual budget for Kid's Company was cheap at half the price. RIP Camilla Batmanghelidjh, Lioness.

Hey ! The Question is ' Are you good at throwing stones ' well I believe that anyone can throw stones and break windows, but then to watch the outcome and running away shit scared are you one of them kinda people, the Camilla I knew was an amazing person to have known, she saw the need of the people and she helped, so in her 61yrs of her life's journey, she helped me and gave me some great advice along her way, I am very sad to hear of her recent passing this week, I believe that the work she did for Kids and families through her organisation ' KIDS COMPANY ' was pioneering for a person like her and her achievements was defiantly a trail blazer by taking on the establishment and the things that they don't do for safeguarding the welfare of venerable and under privileged people and families, well done Camilla R.I.P . . . .

It makes a lot of sense that the tories would turn and attack the charity knowing how it has tried to stop UNICEF talking about food banks, and this charity was running many services all at once at a drop in centre which would make them more expensive than splitting it into separate forms with limited times or numbers like a lot of places with funding have.

Man this makes me appreciate that rn in my life i've got my own place and it's only 3 story so we all know each other and get on well as neighbours. I don't know if this is taking place much up north but where I am up north there's not many high story flats like that and the only few I know of are full of drug users in a terrible area.

Never been to London, and I never want to. By default, people are greedy self-centred shallow, and angry inside towards other people. People will lie steal and rob you blind without a second thought. And that's just in Stafford where I live. Stafford is a small place compared to what London must be. So if you're a tourist, keep a close eye on your possessions if you want to keep them, because this country, people simply don't care about other people's welfare. People only care about themselves. Fact!!!!

Absolutely deplorable and very upsetting treatment of these people. There is no integrity in government or local authorities in the UK anymore, it's just rampant greed. Obviously it's all history now, but I'm truly sickened and disgusted. I hope all the councillors and developers concerned rot in hell.

My grandparents estate is in South East London. My own went at the end of 2021. It's disgusting the councils cash in and decide these lovely looking estates no longer "fit in". Literally everybody on my grandparents estate were a community. Now? There are only a couple of flats/maisonettes that are still occupied. The rest (including my grandparents) are boarded up. The Maryon Road/Grove Estate in Charlton is currently an absolute disgrace! It wasn't until the council and governments decided to stick their noses in! 😡

History repeating itself. I lived in Pollard Road, one of the streets that were demolished to make way for the West Hendon Estate. We were moved to Longford Court, Brent Street. Our flat was on the 9th floor. We had a bathroom instead of the tin bath that was kept in the garden and brought in on Sunday evenings. At the time, my parents felt it a positive move, we had much better living conditions...Central heating for a start and we had fitted carpets throughout from Cyril Lord! Now I belive it was a mistake to demolish the housing stock and relocate so many families. Everything from Cool Oak Lane to the Silk Stream bridge went. I have very fond memories of my childhood in Pollard Road...Happy days.

I think Lynn put it correctly 'she has her own moral code'. I think she saw people in poverty and who need, money was just the vehicle to achieve this, as long as someone benefited the cost did not matter. People perceive charity has to be on a shoestring and only provide the bare minimum. I think Camilla disagreed, she saw there is money out there and thought why shouldn't they have nice things. That young girl who was being funded for boarding school, was that bad management? The swimming pool and mansion is very questionable though ! Im sure it all got too big and was hard to scale and manage. I think she has a good heart, maybe governments that fail to care for their vulnerable population, should be the ones to be shamed throughout the media. Like all charity there are those that take advantage, im sure some people did, doesn't take away from the positive though. I do think the media storm was to push her out, and when she dug her heels in more and more came out, whether it was exaggerated or not, who knows. But you have to be impressed with her fundraising, not many can do that.

  • @Char10tti3

I was just reminded of the charity after seeing a mastermind clip where a celeb donated to them. Even as a teenager, I thought the media around the charity closing and struggles at the time was incredibly forced and like you say, focused on pushing her out. I haven't watched the documentary yet but it seems like the investigations into the charity for money was honestly very limited for something that would immediately close them down. I honestly think this whole mediastorm was crafted for some reason to take it all down and it's not like this was a massively well known charity that would deserve all of that attention organically.
