    You can make waffles out of anything, but oats, quinoa, and others have more fiber and slightly better protein than just regular flour. Even whole wheat flour is better. Oats also have beta glucans, which others lack

    Hi there! If you can’t find agave syrup you can use maple syrup in equal measure.

    Thank you so much and yes that is true! While many food safety organizations encourage no wearing of jewelry, there are circumstances that pose much less of a hazard (complete bands with no stones or crevices, such as the ring that I wear). Moreover, as a vegan, I do not ever come in contact with raw meat or animal products and hands are thoroughly cleaned before, during and after food prep. Thank you for mentioning that :)

    I didn't follow the recipe and just used cocoa powder not the chips it was plenty chocolatey and I could probably reduce the maple syrup

    For anyone wondering-I just tried almond flour in place of white flour and everything stayed together 👍 I also added cinnamon and chilled the dough for about 20-30 minutes before scooping it out.

    I wanna try this in the weekend. May I know the purpose of steaming the apples before baking? Or is that just the way it is in German Apple Pie? Thank you

    Hi Liya! The apples need to be steamed so they are soft when the cake is fully baked. Otherwise, they don’t quite soften enough during the cake baking process.

    Everytime I make powdered sugar in my vitamix, I am left with some large grains making my icing taste grainy. Have you experienced that? How long do you run your vitamix and do you put it on high? Do you stop at all to knock down the sides and mix before blending again?

    I just made this recipe, but I added 2Tbs Erythritol/Monk fruit sweetner and 1 tbs of maple syrup. I also added Carob powder (Coco substitute) and threw in some almonds and cashews. It tasted really good 😋😋

    Just made it, and this recipe is so good! I did not have a food processor, but a blender on high speed for a few extra minutes worked just fine. Will make again!
