  • @joeyslaptop

    At the time of this video, I could only find 16 GB DIMMs. So, I installed two of them for a total of 32 GB. Sometimes, the maxes stated by the company are based on what's available at the time the product is manufactured. I've had several times where I've installed more than the max stated by the manufacturer, and had the computer use and recognize it. One time, I exceeded the max, and it worked, but only recognized the stated max. You might be able to get away with trying 2x32 GB. Good luck. I'd love to hear how it turns out.

    @@AsiaaThatGirl I think your best bet is going to be to buy another iMac of the same model from FaceBook Marketplace or CraigsList or somewhere similar. The key is to make sure that it's not broken in the same way yours is. If someone's selling it for $150 because the power supply is bad or the hard drive broke or something, you can get a good deal on it, and then take the monitor and try putting it on your broken-screen iMac. Then again, it's an old enough model that it may be time to just upgrade to a newer iMac. Good luck. I hope you get it figured out.

I had to pull out the HD, loosen the power supply board and disconnect and slide out the replacement logic board to access the memory slots. So, just beware if you had prior logic board issues, be prepared to pull out more than the fan.

    There is no planet called Kolob

  • @joeyslaptop
    @joeyslaptop11 ай бұрын

    Of the literally trillions of stars out there with orbiting planets, I'm sure you could find one called Kolob. I don't believe any official doctrine of the church hinges on it being literal. But, if it existed or didn't exist, would it affect your salvation? On a related note, the important thing is that it establishes that God is a physical tangible being. So is Christ. Some people think God is a spirit with no body. Some think you can wield God or use God to accomplish things - as if He were just a spiritual essence floating around everywhere and in all things. Some people think that God is literally in the natural law or a power mankind can invoke to supersede the natural law. He's not. If He were, He wouldn't be all-powerful. Instead, the person who wielded that power would be the master of that great spirit. So, imagine that power, natural law, great spirit having an author and one who truly is the master of it all. That's God the Father. He's a physical, tangible, eternally living, indestructible being with all knowledge and having all power at His will. And in spite of all that, in Genesis 1, He says, "LET there be light." He allows it to happen. When it conforms to His will, He calls it good. He does the same for His earthly children. He gives us agency and a time period to conform. In that process, we make mistake and fall out of conformity to His will. That's why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ. He's not an alien on another planet. He's a god. THE GOD. And just like "Heaven" is a physical place, God the Father also has a physical dwelling place for His physical/tangible body. Call it whatever you want: Kolob, Planet Heavenly Father, the place with the clouds on it where He walks, whatever you want. The important thing is knowing that God the Father is your Father in Heaven (the father of your spirit). And, after your resurrection, you'll have a physical body that lives forever - like His. And you'll be assigned a location to call home. Hopefully it's not the one where God doesn't visit.

    thanks for vid! Apple should be ashamed of themselves. They claim to be "Eco friendly", yet make it very prohibitive to do minor upgrades. I suppose many users would dustbin their iMacs instead of paying their IT people $400-500/machine to upgrade. We have 20 machines that need this upgrade in my company......

  • @joeyslaptop
    @joeyslaptop11 ай бұрын

    I'm not sure why Apple wants to leave out the market share that likes to upgrade their own stuff. It seems like they aren't gaining any marketshare through this - and it's even questionable if they're actually able to milk the non-tech-savvy customer any more than they were willing to be milked in the first place. It just seems sort of wasteful. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. :)
